this card isn't actually bad in my opinion. basically, if your opponent has neither any shooters nor little creatures such as tokens worth saccing, you'll have a cheap unblockable guy that's even black, which isn't normally very good at 3-mana drops. yet in case your opponent can afford the loss and either still come up with a chump blocker, or just with a fattie or good blocker, that'll be the end of this ogre. anyways, he's also a warrior, making him possibly worth considering to use for a tribal deck...

This card is cool for EDH in thraximundar, they either take 3, or more depending on your equipment base, or Thrax gets bigger! and they already have to sac a creature to him if he attacks.

This guy is very useful in the early game, where players need stability. If you can sabotage an opponent's stability, say, by getting them to sacrifice creatures, you can take them out quickly. This card can do that easily.

I love this guy. Most times I've used him, I get a two-for-one deal out of it. Not bad, but combine him with stuff like O-naginata and you'll make a mess of things pretty quickly. Of course, there are other, better ways to do that... but I think this is more fun.

With an infiltration lens, this guy will really be pulling out there hair trying to find a way to deal with it.

I don't see how anyone can deny how amazing this guy is.
in a mono black with Dark Ritual u can turn 1 him. so unless they can get 2 creatures out fast ur gana b scoring hits each turn and since we r talking black decks. SmotherDoom BladeTerror etc.
5/5 in the right deck.

Originally read it as "unblockable unless defending player controls a creature". That would've been pretty interesting.

Aggressive and effective early game creature for casual players that don't mind using cards with bad art.

I put this in my mono black EDH deck (I have about 7 possible commanders in the deck and all fit the deck strategy) with a Jitte and it can be rediculous. With enough targetted removal in the deck to keep the creature count low I can end up pushing Jitte's counters into the 20's with ease.

This guy often 2-for-1's, and is quite playable. Especially properly equipped, he demands removal, and being black doesn't hurt either, as he dodges lots of black removal. A solid 3-drop that is similar in utility to (and arguably better than) Fleshbag Marauder if he hangs around.

I like oona's prowler better, feel like the cards are pretty similar in that theyre an evasive 3 every turn unless the opposition drops a card. But prowler is a scant 2 mana which is significantly better than 1bb for this fellow. I bet they would work well together for early black card advantage.

Can't help but notice that he, much like Gatekeeper of Malakir and Fleshbag Marauder, is a warrior. Sacrifice-centric warrior tribal? Since they all force sacrificing, having any of them pick up an Obsidian Battle-Axe and attack could really take an opponent by surprise. Meanwhile, Skull Collector can reset your Gatekeepers and Marauders without even forcing you to miss combat phases (thanks to the Axe)... I smell a deck brewing.

Ogre Marauder is an absolutely amazing card. Sometimes its ability is actually better than simply being unblockable all the time because it allows you to trick your opponents. For example, let's say it's your turn and you have out Ogre Marauder, while your opponent has a Llanowar Elves and a Leatherback Baloth. You attack, they sacrifice their elf to make the ogre blockable... and then you play Geth's Verdict, making them sacrifice their baloth and lose 1 life, and they ALSO take 3 from the ogre.
