This would be so much fun in Zendikar.

God, in it's block it would've been pretty good with Uyo, Silent Prophet and Journey of Discovery available easily what with Mirrodin being the preceding set.

I agree, fun in a landfall deck. I suppose the idea would be that by playing landfall, you're always going to be making more snakes than anyone else.

When creating mana costs, Wizards often has treated two-sided abilities like this one as "neutral" or even as "drawback", so it would have made sense to put that ability on a four-mana 4/4 or even 5/5 creature, but this probably doesn't work because of flavor reasons.. Being a green card is obviously an advantage here, but Emeria Angel shows what this card should have been like, although the angel has an additional advantage of creating tokens just for you! :)

This is one of the best ways to give creatures to opponents. This is beneficial with, for example, Glissa, the Traitor.

Hmm.

This, Xenograft or Conspiracy naming Saproling, and Life and Limb. Ends the game rather quickly, probably in a draw.

My friend played this with an Elf deck and had some neat little trick where he tutored up all his Forests with some combo. I imagine that would have given him some kind of advantage, if I wasn't playing Thallids, already had Life and Limb out. Things got ugly. His combo ran out but he kept giving me extra stuff.
