Like Soul Warden, but better? I guess so!

Anti-Burn, Anti-Goblin, Anti-Nuke, Anti-almosteverythingthatisgoodathurtingher.
Basically its soul-warden 2.0, she learned to dodge the nasty shit and keep the benefits. If your deck has soul warden, ask yourself why you wouldn't have these in it either with them or instead.

Want to bolt her? Can't! Want to toss a Doom Blade her way?? CAN'T!!

The important difference between her and Soul Warden, is that with Auriok Champion you can choose whether or not to gain the life. That rarely matters, but it helps against anti-life gain cards.

A Soul Warden but with Pro-Removal, and she's in her panties/skimpy clothes.
A winner in my book. ;D

what made soul warden good was the mind games it played with your opponent- do I waste a doom blade on and potentially lower my chances of killing a larger threat when it comes, or do I allow my opponent a steady, reliable source of life?

I miss the mind games.

Because the battlefield is the best place to be while wearing your skimpy underwear. Christina Aguilera made this one a FIGHTER. But seriously, I agree that she is like Soul Warden 2.0, and i don't feel bad when she gets Path'ed cuz it saved one of my more aggressive creatures from it.

Soul Warden, Essence Warden, Soul's Attendant, Auriok Champion, and some Ajani Pridemates. You'll have more lifegain weenies than your opponent's removal, by far! Then drop your Serra's Ascendant and Felidar Sovereign just in time.

@ Evil_Tactics

The important difference that rarely matters?

Sure..

Anyway this card is obviously better then Soul Warden except for the extra white mana.

Take Soul Warden if you want a 1-drop and this if you want a 2-drop imo.

This card was originally printed as a failsafe against Goblin decks that abused Patriarch's Bidding.
Of course when Mirrodin came out, Affinity supplanted Goblins as the aggro deck, so so much for that...

great, useful, versatile white creature. Get lotsa life early on and maybe throw an armored ascension on her later. extra good in multiplayer/edh.

I've heard people say she's hot, but I don't know... her hair is goofy, her hands are huge, she has lead spikes growing out of her shoulders...

@Kryptnyt: They aren't lead, they're gold. All creatures on Mirrodin have metal in them, associated with their color. Incidentally, it's the same type as the myr that produces that color. So Auriok, the white tribe of humans, has gold.

A very nice card, but the art is terrible.

Look at the way she's tilted those hips. Look at the way her right hand is ćocked. She's saying "Come and get it... if you think you can live that long." Only an idiot, or someone with a huge ego, would think he could pull a hottie that walks around in a white fur bikini. I wonder how many kills she has....

A lot of people are going on about her hot bikini, but all I'm seeing is a woman walking around having forgotten her pants. Maybe it's just me.

I honestly think that this card deserves a ban in modern. It is starting to see main deck play in both Soul Sisters and BW token decks, which is a ridiculous hose for both Splinter Twin decks and RDW. Making a color hoser good enough to be maindeckable is completely unbalanced, as well as just plain unhealthy for the format. It is not like modern is short on red hate for the sideboard, which is where it belongs.

Pro Red and Black on a 1/1 is meh, as is a Soul Warden (except in lifegain decks). Put them together and you have a $15 main-deckable rare.

Paladin en-Vec was nice when it first was printed. How Wizards outdoes itself. Now theres Mirrodin Crusader, even.

Why is she in her undies? Like that is gonna stop an arrow or sword. She should fire her armorer.

Also, her right hand is gigantic. Not just closer to your perspective, but abnormally large.
