great in monowhite, risky in some situations though, use it with a spell ready to protect it

Very glad they're reprinting this, this and brave the elements are usually what win me games

This thing is evil. I lost to this in the draft.
I also like that artwork.

This thing is a game breaker if the opponent can't deal with it immediately.

One of my favorite creatures to staple this to is Skyhunter Skirmisher. Things get pretty insane after that.

I can't begin to count how many casual games I've won against friends (both in 1v1 and in 2HG) with this card. I use it in my mono white soldier and my mono white ally deck. It is a game changer if the opponent is not prepared. At the least, it's a scary distraction. 5/5

No support from my side.

This has no white flavor. It supports a single powerful & dominating creature and is heavily focussed on lands and power. Could have been a Nightmare Embrace.

Why does white keep getting this card but they dropped Blanchwood Armor out of green, a color where a card like this actually makes sense? =|

@Cheza :: Ever hear of an Enchantment called Blessing? Apparently not. Ever hear of the white sweep spells that give a creature or creatures +1/+1 for each Plains returned to your hand by the spell? Apparently not. This is very much a white flavor, and would agree with you if the card referred to swamps you control as that is very much not white, but it doesn't and therefore I don't.

Of all the Ascension cycle, this one has the easiest pre-requisites to fill. It doesn't even need quest counters! :P

Together with Honor of the Pure it's a mono-white favourite. Even in all white flying, because who cares about flying when you can get +1/+1 for EVERY PLAINS CARD YOU CONTROL.

In casual this is a game ender. I hate it. Cards like this are the reason 4-5 slots in my casual decks are enchantment removal

"An opponent may discard a removal spell. If they don't, you win the game."

Pretty much what it says. This card is amazingly powerful, but you're just making yourself vulnerable to card disadvantage. It's too easy to just kill your creature in response, especially when you have lots of opponents.

Play testing so far keeping 2 of these in my knight deck its a great finisher on an indestructible knight, and absolutely devastating on Mirran Crusader.

Personal experience, I basically built my mono white deck aroud this once, only to have my 14/16 creature killed by a single Doom Blade... If you have no way of preventing something like that, don't use this card. But if you do, this card is excellent!

Jebus this card is nuts.

Turn 4 your 2/2 whatever creature is suddenly a 6/6 Flyer swinging into your opponent's face!

Couple with protection spells and this can end a game REEEALY quick.

My favorite combo though? Nomad Mythmaker. Sadly not a Standard possibility anymore, but in other formats, or in casual, popping this thing back onto one of your creatures for one mana is insane. Makes your opponent want to kill the Mythmaker but as far as I know, once his ability is on the stack, even if he dies, you still get your Ascension.

I run 4 of these in an old-school En-Kor deck I made and this combined with the Mythmakers (run 2) and the Kor's damage redirection, I lock games down.

This card has won me countless games. Sure its likely you end up in card disadvantage due to removal spells but i think the huge flyer you get from this, is well worth the risk. Underrated in my opinion.
Put this on Skyhunter Skirmisher or Mirran Crusader.
If youre scared of black removal, White Knight works too, also if red doesnt manage to kill the creature before its enchanted, most burn spells wont deal enough damage anymore to kill it. If youre still scared of removal, equip some Lightning Greaves :D

Comments on: 'Armored'

The highest rated card (at time of righting) containing armored in its name, and its easy to see why. Armored Ascension is one of the best white aura. Only the fragile nature of the aura alone is a detriment.

In mono-white, playing this almost always elicits a groan from the opponent if they can not solve the problem of such a large, evasive creature immediately. Even in dual color decks this aura is a threat.

In my time I've played this on such fun cards as Mistmeadow Skulk, and have seen people use it on Darksteel Myr to create a deadly, indestructible attacker and blocker. On vigilance cards you get both.

Its high ranking is justly deserved, and I its position as 'highest ranked Armored' card will be challeneged any time soon, barring new releases from upcoming sets.

In a really slow game. . . my opponent got this on his War-priest of Thune and I was chumping with Liliana's Specters. Then I killed it with Fireball. It was absurd.

This card wins games.
Naturally, you shouldn't be playing it in any deck other than mono-white, but where you do play it, there are so many good options. My favorite is either Kazandu Blademaster or Knight of Meadowgrain.

You'll notice that the guy on the horse is wearing the same armor and shield as the Nightguard Patrol from the Ravinca: City of Guilds expansion.

Slap this on your Thoughtweft Trio and you'll be able to block your opponent's entire side of the field. Oh, you think you're so clever with your Godsire with Levitation? Okay, they're all dead now. (And why would you run those two cards together?)

This thing ensures decks carry spot removal. Giant boom or bust card. Combo with Stave Off.. 4.5/5

@KitaFer

You're a *** idiot. If you're not trolling then you're an incredible moron. That's like saying don't play anything at all that dies to Doom Blade unless you can prevent it. Ass
