The good: you don't have to remove the card for it before it's in play, so you don't lose 2 cards against one counter. The bad: if the egg get's removed, bounced, pacified, stolen or whatever else, you lose two cards for one, and you don't get the removed creature back either.

Sharuum the Hegemon would be fun with this. play egg, remove Sharuum, sac egg, bring Sharuum back, and egg too, remove another creature from your hand. Thopter Foundry or something similar will make it easy to sac the egg

Would be hilarious as your attacker in exalted decks.
Put Sangrite Backlash on it. Just keep attacking, and your opponent will be afraid to block because he'll be scared of what's under it. You get him down to lethal range so he's forced to block it. Turns out it's just a grizzly bear or something else harmless.
Turn 1: Land + Myr Moonvessel Turn 2: Land + Atog Turn 3: Land + Sac the Myr, play the egg, sac the egg, swing with Atog for 5
Turn 4: Swing with Emrakul, the Aeons Torn for 15 and game.
I wish my local card shop had some in stock....

Even if you can't sacrifice it, it's a hilarious source of paranoia for the opponent.
Pariah the egg, and the opponent is in a lose-lose situation, even attacking with flyers won't help.

You could make an Egg deck, and have this imprinting another Summoner's Egg, which will then crack another Summoner's Egg, which will then crack another Summoner's Egg, which will then have another Egg inside =D! Keep everyone in suspense!
