Cant use a Magmaspray on one of your creatures... Well, you can, but that would be foolish. This card allows you to buff up one of your guys if it wont kill him. Awesome for a first striker as well.

Even if you beef up your own creature with it, it just becomes more susceptible to burn spells.

At first I thought it was kinda cool. Now I think it's lame beacuse you HAVE to pay R to play this, which pretty much renders it useless. Just use Incinerate instead.

Enchant type Incinerate... useful though but id prefer to use Incinerate that can also hit my opponent for a possible game ender... still this can also be on ur sideboard... its up to u...i just imagine creatures that die with this card have their chest's burst apart...

it's a handy creature killer. 90% of the time you'll be using it on your opponents. i like that you can use it as a pump, but i'm not going to do that against a burn deck. it's a great card if you play it right.

This + Marisi's Twinclaws = Win.

not bad on uril, ends up being +5/-1 for 2cmc, but still not the best aura

Hey, if you're drafting Jund, and you need more cheap removal, this is pretty good. Plus, it's got other uses (I once got a redicously overcharged Rockslide Elemental with the help of Mycoloth, slapped this on it, and was able to kill the Naya player's fatties).

I think people aren't looking at it right. It's not as good as Incinerate, and there are better ways to give your creature +3 power, but are there many cards that can do both? This gets a 3.5 for flexibility.

I play this in my R/B deck for the lulz. It completely tears up my regenerate creatures like Twisted abomination or drudge skeletons when I pit my Zombie deck against it and I can play it on my vein drinker + swing for the win if it's pumped enough.

So.... it's a bigger Immolation?

Removal that works on some low-toughness regenerators and indestructible creatures, and it can boost your beefier creature in a pinch. It works well as a deterrent, turning a beatstick into something that only ends up attacking once.
It works as either non-color discriminatory removal, a decent creature buff, or, in rare cases, an enemy creature debuff, when you're confident that it can't be used against you.

I once killed a Mossbridge Troll with a couple of these.
Totally worth it.

Riot Spikes got bigger and meaner. And greener.

It's either very Jund flavored removal, or a very scary Jund flavored buff.
Either way, it's a handy card. It plays to my reckless, berserk side, small as it may be.

This could kill an indestructible creature, where Incinerate couldn't.

Solid card, either a removal or a creature pump.
