Strictly worse than Mantis Engine. And now, Golem Artisan.

...Oops, I keep forgetting that Golem Artisan doesn't do first strike. Oh well.

This is the guy getting owned on Barter in Blood and Slice in Twain. Ya know why? Cuz he had to pay 5 for a 3/3 with conditional first strike.

Almost playable now that Splicers exist.

Titanium? Come on, surely it's better than this.

I agree on cool art.

Part of a cycle of golems from Mirrodin, each with a colored activated ability that cost 1C:

White Titanium Golem (first strike)
Blue Cobalt Golem (flying)
Black Pewter Golem (regenerate)
Red Hematite Golem (+2/+0)
Green Malachite Golem (trample)

Darksteel would mirror this with its own Affinity-flavored five:

White Razor Golem (vigilance)
Blue Spire Golem (flying)
Black Dross Golem (fear)
Red Oxidda Golem (haste)
Green Tangle Golem (no ability, just big)

This card is pretty mediocre, as it is overcosted for its size and its activation costs slightly too much. I understand that the cost of it being potentially playable in all colors elevates the cost slightly above the curve, but the conditional first strike makes it only really playable in white decks, unless it's a low draft pick to fill out your curve. Even then, it's mediocre at best.
