This is one of those cards that seems bad but has a few applications in combos if you think about it. Of course you can turn your lands into artifacts to help with your affinity cards, but then again, if you're playing an affinity deck you'll probably be using artifact lands anyway. No, what I am referring to is this card + March of the Machines. You can destroy one land per turn! This redeems the Landshaper a bit. Enter Memnarch with hat and cane singing "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better".

Why not 1-up MotM and go with... Titania's Song!
Green has so much more artifact destruction than blue to work with, the landshapers go to town, the Thran Forge is up and running (on enemy creatures) and if someone kills your enchantment it lingers like a nasty fart.
March is pretty good with the Neurok Transmuter though...

Splinter anyone? Remove all of one kind of land in a deck from game? Any takers?

I havent been a duelist for that long so try not to laugh that hard but what would happen if you played this card & turned an island into an artifact, then lets say you have master transmuter on the battlefield & use its act ability to pull the island artifact back into your hand (its still an artifact until end of turn isnt it?), using transmuter to play something like, oh idk, voltaic key, then you play prototype portal to "clone" the island. Wouldnt that be a pretty sick infinite mana combo?? Naayh, im probably crazy for that one! It sounded pretty sweet though, didnt it?

@Mike-C: When a card leaves play all "until end of turn" effects stop working. So no, you couldn't bounce it and still have it be an artifact. But there's still Seat of the Synod.

Fun combo. Save on mana, use this and Memnarch to steal your opponents lands.

Especially good if they are playing blue, because then you have more useful mana to use Memnarch ability to steal other permanants with :D

I have a BlueRed Artifact Affinity pauper deck that runs this guy and Shattering Pulse. ***es people off to no end. With lands like Cloudpost available to the format as well, you can blow up a land every turn. I also run Capsize; if I can't blow it up, I bounce it.

Many others have mentioned Splinter... this also works well with Echoing Ruin.

Great idea with Splinter people. I'm fairly new but yeah just recognized the potential of this card last night. I only have one (I use tokens to represent the other 3) but put together a red/blue/green that basically just bounces lands or destroys them. Another card worth mentioning is Latulla's Orders. I also run Cephalid Constable's. Bouncy bouncy.
