Easy way to bother the tar out of decks that rely on a single uber critter

Even if they don't have a single game breaking creature to play this on, this will annoy the beejezuz out of anyone.
Cheaper than counterspell, and it doesn't matter if you draw it after the fact.

Really really useful card, you can cast it on your first turn and handicap the Llanowar elf your opponent just played. I never saw someone pay for more than 5 turns anyway, 90% of them drop the creature on the first turn.

This + Fate Transfer + anything with Proliferate.

With Skull of Orm this can be quite handy. Early in the game you can knock out creatures cheaply with it, and then later on you can get these back for multiple goes.

Ignoring the crazy things this can do, it's a simple as this. Removal in Blue. Not awesome, instantaneous, removal. But it IS removal. And it has synergies with other mono blue cards. (Paradox Haze, Fate Transfer, Psychic Venom) This card can easily find it's way in to a blue deck that was built by a black deck player. (Like me)

But what do you do, if the opponent plays creatureless deck? Donate them a creature?

@tavaritz no because then they get w.e. creature and have the option to swing or just sac it and thats hurting your situation.

Great with stasis as long as you have the mana. Between this and pendrells flux its a lot of fun!

Not to mention the fact that it works wonders on those indestructible creatures.

Cumulative Upkeep deck... with Leech Bonder and Paradise Mantle... Illusionary Wall can be fun, which now has an UPside! Hey! Never knew there was a 1 Blue kill-spell now did'ya?

Brutal on a creature that already has a Cumulative upkeep cost, assuming they need that creature alive.

I really, really love this card and I don't even know why.

I like to play a subgame with this. I try to find a creature strong enough that my opponent keeps paying the upkeep but weak enough that It can't hurt me much.

I'm pretty sure this can kill tajuru preserver or even Sigarda, Host of Herons if you can sneak it past the hexproof.

There are better ways of killing them but this seems the most ironic.
