First of all look at the effect. Splitting five damage ON A COMMON. Second, this is instant. Third, this is super saucy with Blast of Genius.

This card is not to be played. Ever. Obviously it's too slow for Standard but surprisingly it's actually also too slow for Limited. You could, I don't know, take it 15th pick in a mono-red deck. I guess. But you better hope you don't see it in your opening hand.

At , apparently the difference between common and mythic rare is a 5/5 flying Dragon.

This is a terrible Pyrotechnics. Instead of CMC 5 for 4 damage, its CMC 8 for 5 dmg.

Not to say the card isn't way to costly. but the big point of it. is you can target your own creatures and hit the opponent. triggering how many heroic actions?

Theros limited is so slow I will occasionally put a one of as a finisher, almost always as a spendy Lava Axe. Avacyn Restored, a terrible limited format compared this one, had a much better version of this card though, Thunderous Wrath. 1.5 stars for fringe playability in only one format, though limited is the best format.
This card is underwhelming. Very underwhelming. Drafts never go that long.
I'd like to hear some stories of people winning with this card and what setup they played.

The only thing this card had going for it was synergy with the heroic mechanic... but it doesn't even do that well since heroic triggers when you cast the spell, not when you target the creature. You could still target five separate Fabled Heroes (or whatever).
