Guess that makes sense; the Boros are justice mobs.

Like the majority of the cards in this set this is a flavor knockout and a function fail.

This and Dramatic Rescue, just another reason why Magic should have a movie on Ravnica.

Get 5 creatures out and 8 mana, cast this then follow up with a Burn at the Stake for a flavor overload victory!

Artist's name: Zoltan BOROS. Conspiracy? Coincidence? WHY THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME, WIZARDS? WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

Flavor Text makes me think Orzhov isn't precisely EVIL, just huge, fat, dicks. :P
Whereas DIMIR seems to be an actual villain.

Often ends up being a 3 mana Searing Spear or Shock. Was slightly hyped for about 3 minutes and then went back into obscurity where it belongs.

For three mana this is scarily cheap. Any part red token deck will love this.

This card is absolutely lethal in a deck that specializes in token armies, especially when paired with Assemble the Legion.

My friends and I were trying to convince the novice among our group to revamp his goblin deck for standard. I gave him this for free, on the condition that he actually use it. He blasted my face for a bajillion points.

If you're running a deck that cranks out lots of tokens relatively fast, this would be a funny response to boardwipe.
"I see you have lots of little tokens, even though you can produce a butt ton of these quickly, I'm not worried... Ok, Pyroclasm!" (assume for this we're playing a game in a format where Pyroclasm is legal)
"In response, , Massive Raid, you take (however many tokens the player playing Massive Raid has on the field, which for this situation is assumed to be enough to make you brown your pants) damage. GG."

During the pre-release I had this and Act of Treason sitting next to each other while building a deck. I love it when card art can tell a story. Here's my take:
Orzhov Syndicate fatass here was up to some financial shenanigans that was rapidly angering the Boros Legion, though they didn't have enough evidence to go off of to frag him for his crimes. Orzhov and Boros were always bitter with each other, but not to the point of openly attacking.
Then this fat guy (forgot his name, but he is a major Orzhov representative) committed an Act of Treason by conspiring with the Rakdos cult. Doing such a thing would lead the other guilds to suspect that Orzhov and Rakdos were somehow conspiring against the rest of Ravnica. Judging by the flavor text, The Boros Legion was anonymously tipped off with evidence by House Dimir, whom revealed Orzhov's crimes in order to provoke the Syndicate and the Legion into fighting each other.
With their burning hatred towards the Cult of Rakdos, Boros now had a motivator to hammer on Orzhov; they had "proof" that Orzhov had sympathized with the Cults. With this "crime by proxy" argument the Syndicate was now free game in the legion's eyes. The Boros Legion, Cult of Rakdos, and Orzhov syndicate are now knee deep in a bloody fight that's weakening all three of the guilds. Meanwhile House Dimir is kicking back while their rivals duke it out.

I think this one is a little throwback to Dogpile from original Ravnica.

Obvious to use this with Krenko, Mob Boss, but humans instead of goblins in the art? Sigh... missed an opportunity there Wizards.

I find it kind of amusing that this came out with Gatecrash. Return to Ravnica and Gatecrash effectively neutered Krenko with Electrickery, Illness in the Ranks, Cyclonic Rift, Rakdos Charm, Izzet Staticasters and Detention Sphere - So why give old Krenko a wonderful weapon like this? Adding insult to injury?

Needs plenty of creatures to be effective. Replace with a decent creature instead and deal damage multiple times. Mob Justice ?

for those who don't know, the guild was named after the artist. fun fact: he did the art for the of the original rav guild leaders, but not razia.
Combos amazing with Krenko Drop Foundry Street Denizen Drop Krenko's Command Drop Fervor Drop Krenko, tap Krenko (8 creatures) Tap Krenko (16 creatures) Tap krenko 1 more time, drop massive raid for 32 damage on turn 6

I guess it's easy to scapegoat a Orzhov douche turned Rakdos reveler via the occasional Act of Treason
