What prevents this from gaining 3 lifes... Lightning Helix does that.

That said, I could so see this scene in a Magic movie.

It's the reverse Vapor Snag. It's not quite as good, though, and I think a lot of decks will just run Unsummon instead and forget the 2 life.

Now, in a Bant lifegain deck...

It's actually a little more versatile than a reverse Vapor Snag, since this gives you the life whether you bounce your own creature or someone else's.

Definitely deserved that extra 1 life to make it an Unsummon & Healing Salve

I am a pro and I like to gain life when I bounce.

This card feels ... right favorfully. So good job to whomever designed it. That being said, I think it would have been much nicer to gain 3 life instead of 2 and, considering these sorts of spells are meant to be cast on the spur of the moment, I don't think most people will want to keep both an untapped Plains and an untapped Island on the off chance they'll want to unsummon something.

3 life would have been a neater parallel to Lightning Helix (replace the {R} with {U} to replace the Lightning Bolt with an Unsummon)

Wanted to like this a lot. It would have performed better as a hybrid card. As it stands, the color requirements are just too onerous.

Certainly a good bounce spell for slower decks. Good to offset Geralf's Messenger's clock a bit. Great for racing in limited.

I actually think this will see a decent amount of play in standard, life gain and bounce is pretty sweet defensive effect for a control deck that just wants to buy time before its superior spells take over the game.

Also flashing back Dramatic Rescue with Snapcaster Mage (targeting the said snapcaster) is just the coolest move ever.

Apparently, the building got hit by a Mizzium Mortar.

This card needs to be played with music.
My choice is "Chariots of Fire" (by Vangelis or Isles of Wonder). It's the olympics "slo-mo" music.

Great in Limited, not so great elsewhere. I'll skip the 2 life and take Unsummon in Standard. 2.5/5

This is, as many other players mentioned, a real defensive spell. I agree that combining Unsummon with Healing Salve wouldn't hurt, but it should become uncommon it they did it.

Returning a creature tends to slow your opponent's game by itself, but stapled to a lifegain effect slows it even further. Those two points can be critical as game progresses.

4 out of 5 for me. :)

can you get creatures from your grave?

Different than saving grasp in that you gain two life for a plains. If you are out to use this card for it's main purpose (saving your creatures) I would prefer saving grasp.
