would be lovely indeed, however it still works somewhat that way, in the case your opponents dont want that draw it just makes for a very cheap regenerating creature.

This guy, alongside Patchwork Gnomes, are the hitters for my Worldslayer deck, since they can be regenerated cheaply (i'm thinking Darksteel Citadel or Darksteel Ingot for this one).

Back when this guy was new, everyone still had Black Vise, so yeah 3/5.
and letting your opponent have extra cards is not ALWAYS a bad thing.
