Holy cow, this may be the most dramatic difference between the threshold and non-threshold actions on a card. Wow.
1. Have Hive Mind and Sigarda out 2. Cast Epicenter, have it copied by opponent 3. Naturalize the Hive Mind 4. Counter your own Epicenter, choose not to pay 5. Opponent now controls the effect, so because of Sigarda it can't cause you to sacrifice permanents.
* NB: Requires Threshold for opponent. Mind Sculpt them if necessary. * NB: Can be done without Naturalize/Counterspell combo if you don't have Threshold and they do.
