This card brings back fond memories of token decks and Goblin Trenches.

It works well with Powerstone Minefield You shut down small creatures and don't make yours any more vulnerable when attacking.

How would you swing for twenty? You could only do 15 (or 17)

5 birds (hopefully, assuming you have a buncha fancy shocklands)x(1+2)=15

1 is for the birds power, +2 for the enchantment.

Just like exalted creatures, this works pretty well with cards that provide multiple combat phases, and it's in the right colors, because that's mostly a red ability! :) Creatures that benefit the most from this power bonus are creatures with first strike or even double strike, like Boros Swiftblade, creatures with lifelink or "fake lifelink", like Sunhome Enforcer, and creatures with activated abilities that depend on their power.. Here are my two favourites: Tahngarth, Talruum Hero attacks as 6/6 creature and can destroy dragons while he's at it, and Brion Stoutarm attacks as 6/6 creature with lifelink or can just sit back and "throw" creatures that have attacked this turn with this card in play! :)

This card always baffled me; it's such a simple effect but with such an awkward cost.

@Channelblaze: Fires of Yavimaya also provides +2/+2.

Why wasn't this reprinted for Commander?

Because the deck its in isn't a perfect fit, I guess. This is for weenie decks, and that deck is nothing but fatties.

If you were looking for tools for your Kaalia of the Vast commander deck. You just found your future all star.

A creature that enters the battlefield "attacking" does not trigger any "when a creature attacks" type triggered effects.

Sorry, fellow Kaalia hopefuls, your cheatyfaced Angelidemodragons don't get +2/+2. (I was pretty bummed too.) Still a fun card for the deck, though. You can tap for 1BlackRedWhite, watch every blue mage in the game intently reach for the counterspell in their hand... and then play this, and watch them all relax, perplexed.

My favorite combo with this card is Meekstone, playing White Weenie with Oros as my Commander. It's not gamewinning or anything, but it creates a powerful tempo advantage.

This card provides a big effect for its cost, colour-intensive though it may be. Still, white (and to some extent, black) are the colours of making tokens. Red, meanwhile, brings something to the table that pairs very favourably with Fervent Charge - taking extra combat phases! If you get to attack twice in a turn, the charge will trigger both times, resulting in quite the hefty boosts. Using lots of little guys with battle cry along with this and maybe a Relentless Assault, you can swing for a huge amount out of a handful of cheap tokens.

Imagine turn one Signal Pest, turn two Raise the Alarm, turn three Midnight Haunting, turn four Fervent Charge and turn 5 World at War. You're looking at 40 damage on that fifth turn alone.

The next time they make a set of wedge-colored Commanders they should make a legendary creature based on this card. W/B/R swarm would be fun in EDH, but none of the existing commanders fit that deck style.

Great with Cathars' Crusade and Nomad's Assembly. 4/5
