This card is almost Ophidian Eye, but this card will stick around so it's better imo, then tack on the fact that it plays cheaper and grants fear and i think i just found one of my new favorite draw engines.

Fear + Ophidian Eye + Artifact-Equipment = Mask of Riddles. Thats logic people.

unfortunately fear is a little less useful in this set since your opponent will be playing minimum 3 colours, but you can always throw this on a flier for the card draw.

By turn four, in most decks, you can have it quipped to at least a 2/2 flier, and there are FEW fliers that dare balk at fear... Artifacts and black only... Best Draw engine i've seen, with the exception of perhaps mulldrifter or council of the soratami
Its effectivley a curiosity with the unblockable part bult in. I like this card because I play sphinxes, and well, its built for sphinxes. Both sharding sphinx and ambassador sphinx love this card, and so does a lorescale coatl. If you care about nothing but the card draw, might play curiosity instead. It's defintley an impressive equipment, because it can effectivley replace a divination, and potentially gives more card draw over the course of the game by turning all your creatures into shadowmage infiltrators (or even better if you are using something like a cold eyed selkie or overbeing of myth in the same deck). The only major downside to the mask is, of course, it has to be attached to something. It's useless without other creatures in play.

I'm running a full set of these in my Esper deck, along with the dreaded Sharding Sphinx. Needless to say, the excellent combination of tokens and card draws that ensues is whole bunch of fun.
A little pricey to equip, but this is offset buy its low CC.
Though this isn't a very good combo per se, I love the flavor this card. It fits perfectly in my sphinx deck, as it is Sphinx-like in every way... fear, card drawing and riddles. ;D

This card needs flavor text so bad. Love it regardless.
Erm, QuietK, Szadek's ability replaces his damage dealt to players- the equipment's ability won't trigger.

The art for this card should have been a mask modeled after Jon Finkel's face.

Took a LOOOOOOONG time to replace Sleeper's Robe, but this does it nicely
Basically the same thing, cost 2 more to equip, but usually wont be 2fer'd

Huh, the mask has horns that look like that resemble those of Nicol Bolas. Neat.

Honestly, I think Fear on an equipment is much better than Intimidate.
Intimidate is always different, depending on what creature you put it on. Sure, it can become pseudo-unblockable if put on an artifact creature, but becomes nearly useless when put on something like... oh, let's say Sharuum (why would I mention a creature from the same block in the same colours as this card? NOT A CLUE. ART DOESN'T SUGGEST ANYTHING EITHER).
But with Fear, it's always "Black and Artifacts can block".
It's an absolute, and Black always deals with absolutes.

It's an equipment costed the same as the creature it imitates, which in turn imitates an aura.
I really like it, I'd say 3.5/5
