Even if the regen cost is high, it still has regen, and it's still on the curve with another useful ability. Your choice of one drops playing exalted in M13 are basically this or Cathedral of War, since it enters tapped. So, 4/5 from me

I think this is a perfect Exalted card.
It's a one drop, starting the pain early.
Then, once it no longer makes an impact, it defends like a champ while your sole attacking threat beats face.

You can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be cramming these lil' guys in my Limited decks (assuming I play Black). A 0/2 with Exalted and (an albeit expensive) Regeneration? Now that's getting your mana's worth! Having said that, I clearly won't be playing it in Standard because, I mean, it's a 0/2 that costs 3B to regenerate.

I hope people realize how good this card is as a 1 drop. If you attack with this turn 2 its a 1/3 for 1cmc... find another one at common. Good luck. Also, if you manage to drop another Exalted critter on turn 2 this is a 2/4 for 1cmc. That's awesome. You won't even need to use the regeneration for quite some time at that rate. Or...

Turn 1: Swamp, Duty-Bound Dead
Turn 2: Cathedral of War, 2nd Duty-Bound Dead, swing w/ first as a 3/5.
Turn 3: Plains, Knight of Glory, swing w/ Duty-Bound Dead for 4/6.
Turn 4: Land, Angelic Benediction, swing w/ Knight of Glory for 7/6 & tap a critter.

I think that's pretty good and these guys make an awesome start to that.

This card is fantastic in limited. I managed to get all 3 of mine out by turn two during a pre release game. next turn aven squire sealed the deal.

Not exactly a Noble Hierarch, but arguably better than Akrasan Squire.

Overall a welcome addition to the exalted family.

Reminds me of the Skull Defenders from Final Fantasy XII. There's a bridge full of them in the Lhusu Mines at Bhujerba.

First we get Typhoid rats, now this. I'm very happy. Excellent one-drop - especially in black.

One of the best commons in the sets, hands down. 5/5

Fantastic in limited. At the prerelease, my sealed deck contained three of these, Tormented Souls, and used disruption cards like Negate and Mind Rot. These skeletons are good early, mid, and late game, and are never dead in hand.
For constructed, they satisfy the one-drop exalted creature that used to be Akrasan Squire. Otherwise, things like Gravecrawler are scarier one-drops.

love this guy. he doesn't die when on the field at the same time as Heartless Summoning, so when you get Nefarox out on turn 4 with one or two of these and a Cathedral of War or two, he swings very, very hard.

because of the 2 toughness, he's my second favorite exalted black card

Sweet mercy, this is begging to be played with Silent Arbiter, which was already a champ in Exalted decks. He can chump block till the cows come home, and provide your attacker with a handy boost.

A one-drop that attacks turn 2 as at least a 1/3 can't be bad. Forget that his regen costs 4 mana; early game you won't use it, and late game you'll likely have nothing else to play with that mana. If you're playing Exalted in Standard, you should play this guy no questions asked.

this guy and Entropic Specter are in the exact same orientation of pose... it's like the physical form in one reality while the spiritual form in another, past, present or future... woah

I use it alongside Knight of Infamy buffing my flying lifegain creatures.

As the only exalted card in my deck, this creature is still really awesome. Exalted usually makes a difference whether early or late game. As a 0/2 one-drop it defends you from other one-drops nicely, can deal damage alone, and though the regenerate is expensive, it is easy to use in late-game. Since this card does everything right for me, I give it a rating of 5/5

What's so fantastic about this card is that its always relevant at any stage of the game. Early game he's a reliable one-drop that basically attacks at least as a 1/3, then as the game progresses he becomes a cheap source for an exalted trigger that blocks like a champ while your beatstick pulls the weight. If only more skeletons could have this standard of excellence, and at common rarity too!

Limited king 1 drop. in m13 it is basically a 1/3 until you drop another creature it is almost essential for B/X control in the m13 enviroment

I just love the flavor of this guy. Even death was not enough to stop his dedication.
