Ok, wait. 4/4 body plus first stike equates to about five mana, right? So since this creature has a mana cost of , a further little ability shouldn't be a bad idea. And this ability we're talking about is...a drawback?! Something went wrong here.
I know this is part of a mechanic cycle from Planeshift called "gating" which can be made profitable, but white and green are both colors for weenie decks (as seen on Watchwolf for example), so why did they not reduce the cost here accordingly? Shivan Wurm also has a mana cost of , not , has it? Of course - the latter uses a rare slot. But was that a reason to chimney imp this common?

Yeah, I don't get this card. You could certainly use it to your advantage to bounce back a creature that does something good when it comes into play. Still, it's generally a drawback and usually found on cards that are undercosted, such as Kor Skyfisher.

This guy's cost has got to be a typo.

Sometimes I think they meant four mana total, not 4 +

Worst of the gaters, which isn't hard to do.

Ehhh... This would have been at least playable at 2GW. As is, severely underwhelming unless you play with a crapload of come into playcreatures to offset it.
Hate all you want, but I remember having a lot of fun with this in my fading deck in Masques-Invasion block Type 2 back in the day. Those Blastoderms just never stopped coming.

Too bad this isn't an elf. Oh wait....
As far as tribal Elf/Knight: stick with Wilt-Leaf Liege, Wilt-Leaf Cavaliers or Llanowar Knight.
