There are much better cat knights. Leonin Skyhunter comes out earlier and costs less and then we got Skyhunter Skirmisher which has double strike albeit comes as a 1/1. But still technically does the same damage but more when properly buffed. Disappointing card unless in a life gain deck but I'm pretty sure there are more effective creatures for that type.

"Hm. There's a robot fighting a spiky black thing down there. Anthromorphic cat riding a flying sky snake, ENGAGE!"
@Gavrilo: You don't know what "strictly" means. Please explain to me in what way gaining 2 life is always and incontrovertibly worse than the ability to remove a creature from combat. In the meantime, please read the comments on Tel-Jilad Justice explaining the meaning of "strictly" as it applies to Magic. (hint: it's more than just a buzzword used to make twelve-year-olds sound like they know what they're talking about)

Strictly worse than even Gustcloak Harrier, unless cat subtype would count as advantage.

Hah, you've got me here. Well, maybe it isn't strictliest "strictly" in the world, rather ironic one (yeah, i know, i suck at irony). My point is that example (harrier) got ability that is often just as good as 2 plain lifepoints. and got creature type(s) relevant in his environment. And power level has grown since then, so harrier was early pick in draft and this one is mid-late .
But yeah, you're right it isn't what "strictly" is meant to be.

Should have been a black Specter instead... saying 'target player loses 1 life, you gain 1 life'

I like this card quite a bit. It looks a bit underwhelming, but has nice synergy with other strong white cards. Excellent in a Knight deck with Knight Exemplar, and does a great job boosting Ajani's Pridemate.
First strike would have been incredible, but I'll take it as is.

Shouldn't have costed two whites, in my opinion.

Seems like a pretty solid card to me. it's a 2/2 flyer for 3, which itself isn't a bad deal, with a touch of life gain basically tacked on for free. It's not likely to be the finisher in a deck, but it's a solid early-mid game creature that provides evasive damage and a bit of edge in a race. Good utility. And Knight is becoming a relevant creature type, too, between Knight Exemplar and the recently-spoiled Besieged knights.

I like that Leonin Skyhunter comes out a turn earlier, it's much better for an aggressive curve.
This guy, on the other hand, has his uses. Attack isn't one of them. He belongs to the school of card that you throw onto the battlefield to slow things down. Especially against red. Especially late game if you've got a Sun Titan up and running. It's 2 life every turn while chumping dragons all day long at that point. With the added bonus of never having to risk your Titan. Throw in a few Knight Exemplar's and the board becomes very difficult to get through.

My least favorite cat knight. Still good for the lifegain. Oh wait, Infect. :P Anybody else thought it was wierd that, because lifegain didn't matter, they pushed it? probably screwed up limited. Either you get locked into a slog-fest against another lifegain deck, or the Infecters just rape you. Nah, Leonin Skyhunter >>> this in every way.

That's right, Kimba the White lion is now coming to mtg. Be afraid, be very afraid!

Flying Grey Ogre with a small lifegain effect. Pretty neat in limited; in constructed, you have better options.
