not the best card ever, but goes well name wise in the expansion

Lovely picture, nice flavortext, far below average card... Well I still like it :)

This one reads more like Angel's Sympathy.

Horrible card, about as worse as it can get. Apart from someone liking the art or flavortext or something, I can't see any reason to ever play this card in any deck.

I think the art is trying to depict what happens when the player (the dude on the right) plays this horrible card. To that end, this should have probably been called Angel's Pity.

There are no bad cards, only cards with very weak interactions. that being said if i picked this 12-14 out of a pack in draft, I would be very pleased. 7 life four four mana at the end of an opponent's turn is nothing to scoff at, that is almost 40 percent of starting life total, that being said this will be one of the cards that gets passed around the table and no one wants to pick (barring an overzealous Timmy lured by the number 7) however this is a reasonable card in limited, no glitter or fire works but this is a good blue collar card

Mercy is almost synonymous with pity, for everyone complaining about that. I like this card, whether or not it's amazing.

If you have Griselbrand then this really means draw 7 cards.

I like the new art, but its effect on the game is still pretty bad unless your deck is specifically built around lifegain for a specific goal -- outlasting burn, winning via Felidar Sovereign, or flipping Chalice of Life, as examples. Even then, non-repeatable lifegain with no other effect is a bad use of a card. Just in Avacyn Restored, you have Cathedral Sanctifier, Goldnight Redeemer, Nearhearth Pilgrim, and Seraph of Dawn that combine lifegain with a body.
I give it 1/5, on the strength of the cool art.

The reprint makes sense, but this is one of the least efficient lifegain spells in the game. Garbage in any format, and trumped by Heroes' Reunion in eternal formats and EDH (if you for some reason need a lifegain spell in that format).

Garbage card is garbage. To be fair I never rate cards on their strength in Limited nor in Standard, but chiefly based on 1) Pauper, and 2) Classic/Vintage. And regardless of whether this is a soft Fog in Limited, this is still a terrible, terrible lifegain spell everywhere else.

@.@ She's so prettiful.....8D
:p I like the way some of these Innistrad arts don't look like fantasy characters- they look like real humans. or real Angels. Very nice :)

Lifegain is underappreciated most of the time. People look at the cost of this card and get scared, but the bottomline is that this is a retro active counter to two burn spells, pays for griselbrand's ability, is instant speed, so can be played after a player blows through his whole hand and attacks with everything thinking he'll kill you.
Is this a great card? Far from it. Should you throw a fit if you get stuck with it in sealed/draft? Absolutely not. Some of you guys are expecting too much if you think cards like this have no place.
2/5 for the art, flavor, but a bit underpar for getting done.

I don't know why everyone is being so picky here, I'd pay 4 mana to get head from that angel any day.

The art is beautiful in this card, but it has limited usage. Not useless though. Probably only in a draft setting.

Arrrgh did this really need ANOTHER reprint? We just got it in M12 again. And it didn't deserve to be printed there either.

What? In the core set AND in an expansion WHILE the core set is here?! Wow.
This card must be very important! :p

This is inferior to White Sun's Passage, which, at the time of this writing, is still in standard. Might be useful in limited or draft, though.
Perhaps the designers were weary of printing powerful life gain cards because Chalice of Life is in the same block.

Just to review:
For the same CMC Congregate will give you more life (potentially a lot more), if there are 4 or more creatures on the battlefield.
For 2 mana Heroes' Reunion will give you the same amount of life, if you have green.
For 2 mana Rest for the Weary will give you 1 more life, if you dropped a land that turn.
For 3 mana Renewed Faith will give you just 1 less life, with the option of getting 2 life and a card draw for 2 mana instead.

You can still sideboard to counter burn. This heals 2 lightning bolts and something extra.

You all be hatin' but this card was in the sideboard of a PT winning deck (Hayne, PT Avacyn Restored) : http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/eventcoverage/ptavr12/videodt4
Clearly it is not to be overlooked

This is such a great card! I hope they reprint this in M14. I mean c'mon! Aren't you so satisfied when you open up a booster pack to find one of these?
