I honestly just love how utterly black this card is.
Oh, you like death? Have some more death. Mmmm death.

be warned this card is very demony. his ability lacks a 'may' clause. if something dies and you have any other creatures than demons and they have none (or hexproofs/shrouds) be prepared to start pickin off your own dudes.
that being said, he won me some games at prerelease, but mostly just because he was a 6/6 flier. his ability makes him fun to drop after combat for extra surprises.

I pulled this guy at prerelease and noticed right away that it was NOT legendary....
WHAT THE HELL KIND OF GODFORSAKEN PLANE IS INNISTRAD!? IS THERE REALLY MORE THAN ONE OF THESE THINGS FLYING AROUND?!?

Demonic deck much??? Red-Black Demons will make hell, Blue-Black for countering pesky removals, Green-Black for ramping up.. I'll make try it though, play early Bloodgift Demon, this, or Rune-Scarred Demon.. you'll have enough green for pump in response with Dismember and ramp for mana, you have black for removals, splash in some Isolated Chapels for access with Unburial Rites to return your dead Demons for more hellish action, as for red, add in some Dragonskull Summit for access with Arc Trails or Slagstorm to wipe early board weenies..
With all those dual-lands available now, demonic deck like this may hope to see some play in standard for funsies.. And with the slow format Innistrad is suggesting, this is worth a try.. =)

Blood Speaker Upkeep: sacrifice the Blood Speaker, search of the Reaper of the Abyss, play the Reaper, the Reaper gets to kill something at end of turn.

@ Gcrudaplaneswalker: Actually, I can't fathom why in the Nine Hells she should. :P First Halo Hunter, now this! Well ok, this isn't as bad as Halo Hunter, but it still makes me wish he could force sacrifice instead of destroy, to play around Baneslayer. A Mythic Demon should be on even footing against a Mythic Angel.

Demon worship at WotC is still grinding on. A 6/6 for 6, 666 + some powerful ability stamped on... the endless stream of undercosted demons is getting dull...

There's a very simple two card combo that can use all of this guy's potential: this and Stitcher's Apprentice.
Had this combo in a draft. I won.

...alright, you win, I'll put a non 1 power creature into my Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker EDH, but only because your art is so scary, and I refuse to run downright evil cards like Grave Pact in an 8-player EDH game.

i have this card in my deck and it comes in handy all the time it has won me alot of games
Also, be careful: his ability is not optional. You can be forced to nuke your own creatures. But if all your non-Demon creatures have shroud (NOT hexproof) and/or protection from black/creatures/demons, then you're good to go.

This card can be a great surprise for an opponent that's not paying attention to what's in your graveyard while you have a reanimating card in your hand or Unburial Rites sitting in your graveyard if you catch my drift. ;) I love this thing.
Okay I'm going to chump block your big thing with my 1/1. It dies, reanimate Reaper from the Abyss, end turn, destroy their big creature. It's turned the tide for me many times like that. 5/5

Run with Puppet Conjurer for reliable destruction every turn.
Made a hellspawn deck (demons, devils, imps, etc.) Brought out Demonmail Hauberk, Trading Post and this guy. Also had a Demonlord of Ashmouth out. Kept making goats so I could sac them to my demons to exchange the hauberk in a 3 player game and ultimately wiped the field squeaky clean of anything good and/or pure.

This card is blacker than the blackest black, times infinity. He's a Demon armed with a freaking doom blade that demands more death if something dies. So black, so metal. Glorious.

From Making Magic, July 08, 2013:
During a playtest, I play a Reaper from the Abyss. I attacked each turn, my opponent chump blocked (he had a lot of fliers), and then I killed a second creature. This happens until he had only one creature left. I attack, he blocked, and then the following dialogue occurred:
Him: Kill your demon. Me: What? Him: My guy died so you have to kill a creature. Me: Yeah, but why would a demon kill himself? Him: I don't know. He's depressed there's no one left to kill. Me: That doesn't make any sense. Him: I don't care. It's what the card says.
I then take out my pen, remembering Rakdos, and wrote "non-Demon" on it.
Him: You can't do that. Me: I redesigned him while the effect was on the stack.
