Enchant with Elemental Mastery. Maybe add a Seeker of Skybreak or other untapper to the mix.

Am deckbuilding around this card. I remember back in the Alara days I had a deck based around Rockslide Elemental / Scavenger Drake and Whispersilk Cloak. And hey! This card does half of Whispersilk Cloak straight off the bat.

finally: some 'Huorns' for my Fangorn Forest deck! :D
Lorwyn/Shadowmoor put Treefolk Tribal on the map, but if you REALLY want to go Middle-Earth, you'll need Innistrad for Mirkwoodish and Fangornesque cards. Surprisingly, there are more evil woods than good ones in the books. Now all they need to do is make a Treefolk that hates on Indestructible Artifacts, and we can FINALLY make a Last March of the Ents deck! :D

'Whenever a Treefolk or Forest enters the battlefield or attacks, defending player sacrifices an artifact' ?

Take a look at Invisible Stalker. Lumberknot is the personification of term overcosted.

@AncientTimer: It's the other way around, bro. This is OK, and Invisible Stalker is the personification of the term "undercosted". Well, actually that would be either Ancestral Recall or Time Walk, but you get my point.
@DarthParralax: If said indestructible artifact is a creature, Lignify then Naturalize. Not really effective, but it was the best I could think of within a monogreen treefolk theme.

With hexproof to protect him, in theory you could play him in a token deck and let it sit back and watch until it grows huge. Maybe with some proliferate to help speeding things up. I'll refrain from mentioning Doubling Season. Looks playable, but it's shadowed by its fellow standard treefolk Dungrove Elder, at least in monogreen.

I thought Algae Gharial was pretty cool, but what I really wanted was the ability to Gigantiform it directly.

Put Wreath of Geists on him and keep sac'ing/regenerating your reassembling skeletons. Hexproof fatty.

I'm not sure how I feel about this guy. The ability + hexproof are awesome because once he hits the board, there aren't many ways to get rid of him. Either you wipe the board or force a sacrifice/block.

The cost is a bit high though. Dropping a 1/1 ~T4 means you're playing a shrimp when your opponent is probably hitting his fatties. That means you've got a creature that might not be of use for a turn or two until a few others die.

It just seems a little slow for constructed formats. Drop the cost to 3 to speed it up, or make him a 2/2 for some extra durability out of the gate, and this could be a great card. Casual and sealed play can definitely have fun with it, though.

Play this in U/G with stitched apprentice and jade mage?
Pump out 1/1 tokens, turn them into 2/2's and power up lumberknot. :3

This isn't too bad, although I wouldn't try to build a deck around it. Great in green-white when you're playing against token decks. Wait until your opponent creates tons of tokens (they'll probably be using parallel lives or kessig cagebreakers or some other token factory deck) and then cast Divine Reckoning. Bunch of tokens dead, lumberknot gets tons of +1/+1.

I guess it would be really good in that +1/+1 counter themed Ghave, Guru of Spores Commander deck. I'mma try it out.

Recently, with the release of M13, Ring of Kalonia makes this a freaking bomb much faster after its turn 4 appearance. You would also be as likely to have some form of mana ramp, making him come out much faster. With the assortment of killing spells, B/G builds around this would be easy to achieve.

Serves as a righteous beatstick in my Vorosh, the Hunter proliferation EDH deck, especially when Corpsejack Menace is out and other people are fighting it out.
