now I know why they removed Giant Growth. It kills more than 4 cards in the set outright!

At worst it's a 1 turn pacifism (it doesn't go away until the end step afterall), It's not a great solution, but not a terrible one either, especially in green

Compared to the old Utopia Vow, I'd say this is on-par, probably even better. Of course utopia vow was ahead of its time and was in the planar chaos set.

control in green!? Of course it won't be perfect. You have to pay the price for cards with abilities which are rare for thier color.
Needs flash to be useful without the spider though; that's my only issue. As it stands, unless you get the spider out to recur it, it's just "choose one - 'arrest' target creature with power 3 or less, or target creature with power 4 or greater can't block this turn".
With the spider, it's almost not worth it to play on weaker creatures because you lose the ability to get it back, and without the spider, it's not worth it to play it on bigger creatures. I still really, really like the design. Anyone who's played Rangers in D&D should know nature has a lot of ways to trap things.

I always felt like such untapping effect should be green as well in a way of spider web and roots entangling poor victim... Entangling Vines were nice addition to green list of answers, but it was not really effective or efficient to be usefull. This looks much better, and with it's daddy spinner, most green players are gonna to fall in love with it.
Spider tribe, you're going to be really funny! Now, Wizards, please print more awesome spiders!

If I put this on a kami of the crescent moon does that mean I wont draw an extra card on my phase?

@Enkanto:
No as Kami of the Cresent Moon's ability isn't an activated ability, its a passive ability. Stuff that would be affected is stuff like Llanowar Elves or Deathless Angel.

"Hey Big Spider Why You Tapping Yourself for?"
"Ahhhhhhhhhh it's all sticky and it's everywhere!!!!!!!!"
In other words a brilliant addition to Green making our reachy little spider even more playable :-)

The difference between and is surprisingly very big. I don't think this would be overpowered at

With Arachnus Spinner, you cannot declare a Spider as a blocker, then tap the spider to prevent another creature from dealing combat damage. You can still tap it to place the web, but it will not prevent the second creature from attacking. (Someone tried this at a tournament, the judge was NOT impressed)
