Robber Flies are real flies, and they're dangerous to pretty much everything except humans. They'll take down wasps, bees, beetles, ants, mosquitoes, etc.

They're pretty cool looking. My friend caught one once and it took us forever to identify it

I can't believe this card has such a low rating. I figured it wouldn't work well, but after putting it into a deck, especially a deck that let's you pump it up, it can become fearsome. With Forgotten Ancient they won't have a chance but to block it. Its only real downfall is when they don't have any cards left to discard.

@Test-Subject:

You're misreading. You WANT them to block it. They only discard their hand if it's blocked. So this+Megrim+Lure would work great, but not the combos you listed.

Everything about this card is wrong.

- Why does it have flying when it requires a creature to block it?
- Why is it a three mana 1/1 so the opponent seriously can just let it through?
- Why are two things each requiring outside support tacked onto one another?

I mean, you need a Lure effect or this is just a bad Suntail Hawk. Then you need something like Megrim or else the ability does almost nothing. After all that and hoping they don't Bolt your Fly, you start to hope they control a creature with flying and have a sizable hand.

Masques did have many awkward cards, but this really tops them all.

@Gabriel422: That, and your opponent might just exchange a hand full of lands for spells.

because nobody said it yet, Barbed Shocker is the card that you want this card to be.

@Leonin_Kha_Cameron: If they wanted it to be Shocker, they could have just reprinted Shocker.

Also, why does it do that? How does a robber fly make a player - a player who throws a creature in front of it so it doesn't make it to him/her - discard his or her hand and redraw it?

"Oh, my Suntail Hawk blocked that nasty-looking fly. I've suddenly developed a whole new outlook on life!"

And if they wanted it to correspond to the flavor text, then...how...does that...make any sense? The fly was being chased and the creature chasing it discovered something. I guess if "chase" = "block" then it works...maybe.

Oh, robber fly. When will you learn to leave Tunak Tunak Tun guy alone?

Usually it will help your opponent, as the opponent gets to choose if he discards his hand.
