this is an excellent card zombie, because when it enters the player could cause much damage.

turn 1- sample one drop or if lucky... a dark ritual + Death Baron turn 2 - dark ritual + Undead Warchief turn 3- Undead Warchief... turn 4- whatever you see fitting...you already have 3x 6/4...you might as well put another lord and Cover of Darkness or something...oh yeah...they have death touch...

This card is awesome in zombie decks and conbined with another or some other zombie that powers them up as well then it could even be used as an attacker or defender if need be.

2nd best warchief there is.
He would be first, if soldiers weren't so insanely powerful.
The other 3 are a joke (at least in comparison)

I'm trying to make a deck with four of these and four Lord of the Undead's. The result will hopefully be, a group of insanely powered up zombies.

This whole cycle's flavour is that they use the Moxen around their necks ^_^

So this guy gives itself +2/+1? Most lords tend to have "other creatures", but this doesn't say other.

A 3/2 which costs 2BB. Subsequent Undead Warchief is a 5/3 which costs 1BB. Third and fourth Undead Warchiefs are 6/4 for BB. Here's my advice:
Setting up a zombie deck? Get swamps, then Undead Warchiefs, then Carnophages. Then build your deck as you want.

I'd play this as a four-of based off it's flavor text alone.

@Boneclub: you know, i never noticed that. Good eye, it makes the whole cycle seem more interesting now.

@NuclearMECCA:
These are not lords, these are WARCHIEVES. Strictly better, not in the literal sense, but in the heavily opinionated "why-would-you-not-prefer-cost-reduction" sense. They made a new cycle of them in Lorwyn, called Bannerets, but I have yet to use them. What makes Warchieves even more powerful is the application of newer cards, such as Followed Footsteps or Rite of Replication.
Edit: It's not Lorwyn, but it's the same Morningtide bullshyt.

Running 4 of these in a Zombie deck is as crucial as running Swamp. The third and fourth one will be AT LEAST 7/4 and 9/5 zombie boosters for BB. But of course your zombies will probably be so beefed by that time that you will have already won the game before you get the chance to see 4 ofthem on the board... 4.5/5.

I think the only better power Zombies have ever had is Rooftop Storm. and this is faster. Hell with it, using both. Zombies are probably one of the scariest tribes in Magic.

I can easily see something nearly identical to this being printed in Innistrad. The sewn up corpse, the pro-zombie support and the cost reducing effect would make for some madcap mayhem.
It could be reprinted looking like a Skaab.
Or maybe that would absolutely break the whole zombie tribal for this set.

Does he cost 3 or 4 to play it says it costs one less so as you are begining to cast you come to realization you do not need 4 you need three? Righr? any feedback would be appreciated. Seems to make sense to me as all other zombie lords cast for 3.

It's not wearing a mox, it's wearing Jet Amulet - which makes even more sense.

The only modern legal Warchief; and he was already an incredibly strong warchief due to the +2/+1. If you play a 2/x T1 (many many zombie cards), another one or two 2/2s T2, a lord T3, then this guy then it's:
T2 - 2 damage T3 - 6 damage T4 - 14 damage
If that doesn't display how powerful a 2/2 each turn is with this guy, nothing I can say. if playing Zombie Infestation and/or bridge from below it's quite possible to swing for 20+ T4.

Good card. Not much else to say except that zombies (with the possible exceptions of goblins and slivers) is one of the best-supported creature types. Certainly, it is the type with the most lords, and this is one of the best lords possible. Global +2/+1 is scary.
At the same time, it costs more than most of the other zombies you're realistically casting, so it's cost reduction isn't super relevant a lot of the time.

How does Undead Warchief interact with zombies that have Morph? For instance Skinthinner or Boneknitter?

Interestingly enough, a Little Girl is stronger than a man according to this.

Little Girl has a power of 1/2.
=/
then... 5 stars ratings!!! As for the rest, AWESOME!!!
T2 - 2 damage
T3 - 6 damage
T4 - 14 damage

A Little Girl has power and toughness of 1/2/1/2
Undead Warchief has the power of 7 men and is a 3/2.
Therefore the power of a man is 3 divided by 7, which equals .43
Therefore, a little girl is .07 times stronger than a man.
