Doesn't have to be an Ally.

No, wolfbear, but this targets Everything, as JWolps said. Certainly an interesting card, but you'll need a lot of allies to make it work for you.

I think wolfbear was talking about only being able to pull something from your opponent's graveyard and not your's. Therefore not be able to put an Ally from your graveyard into play each turn.

Combine this with Halimar Excavator to give you stuff to steal.

I think it's a bit underpowered and situational. If I already killed a good amount of my opponents creatures to have a chance that anything useful is among them, and if I have in addition a large enough army of allies in play, then why didn't I win? Early game he does nothing, late game his effect ain't important enough.

If I'd want a creature to reanimate stuff I'd take something like doomed necromancer or coffin queen or ink-eyes, servant of oni.

If I'd want to make an ally deck, I'd take a more aggressive ally than this. It's not bad for casual stuff or something, but I wouldn't play him. 2.5/5

Doomblade your opponent baneslayer angel, and if you have 5 ally on the field (fairly easy if you have an ally deck) you got yourself a baneslayer angel on your side. if your opponent kill it, just retake it. If your opponent have the land Emeria, the Sky Ruin you can, in respond to the emeria ability, target the same creature and bring that creature on YOUR side, denying your opponent it's land ability.

Your opponent play with Ball Lightning well have fun with a free 6 damages per turn as long that you keep 3 allies on the board. or a Siege-Gang Commander you tap a creature and receive 4 blockers, not a bad trade^^

If your opponent play ally as well, then you can have some MAJOR fun

your opponent play green, well I don't think of anything fun in green to steal but a blocker that when he die you do not lose an ally can e interesting. or over many turn you could start your own elf army^^

Vampire? make sure that he won't be able to bring some of them back from the grave (ex: bloodghast) or you could get some fun by keeping a nighthawk under your control.

Blue? blue? been too long since I saw someone play blue, but I guess sage owl to rearrange your library first 4 card might be fun or some unblockable creature.

Now if only allies had a protection against day of judgment other then forcing your opponent to discard it using Bala Ged Thief or duress

At my release event:
I dropped him with a Bojuka Brigand already out. Then next turn played a Hagra Diabolist, and then tapped to pull out another Brigand from the other side. (-3 life, and a +3/+3 Brigand - followed by -4 life and a +4/+4 Brigand )
In another game, as the only ally on my board, pulled out a Pulse Tracker (B) over and over and over and over. I could instant block, I could send him to attack and die, and it just kept recurring.

That was mostly a 'splash' allies Sealed deck, so not really focused on using him, but it was pretty strong.

Constructed - if there's reliable removal (Doomblade, Tendrils) or even discard/mill it could get pretty sick, but yea, you should be winning already if that were the case...

Yeah the real power here is it's reusable. Most effects like this exile the reanimated when they die again.

Would putting an ally from your graveyard into play every turn really have been that broken?
I geuss Allies can do some sort of backwards reanimater now with Bala Ged Thief and Halimar Excavator filling the opponites graveyard with targets.

@ sir-dwar and JWolps: No duh, reread what I put and think. If I could put any reanimate any creature in my graveyard with this guy, I'ld probably want to get an ally so I can keep triggering all the ally triggers each turn, or clouse to each turn. All the normal reanimater targets cost a lot (that's why you are cheating them into play in the first place, right?) which would require you to have a bunch of allies. So you would have been winning in the first place.

Can you use the targeted creature when it enters the battlefield under your control or do you have to wait a turn? It isn't summoned is it? You can use it right off, right?

Resurrect your opponent's creture each turn and attack with it, if your opponent dfoesn't block,it's free damage. IF he does block and kill it, you can resurrect it again. If it was possible from your own graveyard, it would have been broken in an ally deck, since you could get an extra ally ability trigger just by tapping this guy.

This ability is much stronger than people give it credit for. You can use it defensively and pull chump-blockers from your opponents graveyard or, better yet, something with Death Touch that will kill their attackers.

The beauty of the card is that if your opponent has very strong low-costed creatures (ie Lotus Cobra) you can reap the benefits of them with virtually no allies on the field.

should have made the reanimated creature an Ally in addition to its other creature types. then it would be a cool card.

@hopskotch:

A creature has summoning sickness unless it has been under your control since the beginning of your most recent turn. So, sadly, no, you'd have to wait a turn unless the resurrected creature had haste.

I have a WhiteBlueBlack deck that has join the ranks, halimar excavator, and this (4 copies each) with a few Jwari Shapeshifters.

My friends wouldn't let me play it, though, so I took it apart.

i played this with Xenograft and called "ally."

he boosts the count of X using that, steals their guy, triggers your ENTIRE FIELD and with that becomes one of the most powerful reanimator creatures in magic. DAMN.
