I'm rating this as low as I can. Why? The flavour text. These things melt down darksteel? I DON"T THINK SO. Darksteel is well established as immutable, and unless this thing has a darksteel forge in its tummy (and I'd think it'd be bigger if it did), it shouldn't be able to do that. The creature itself isn't bad, though

I actually like this card alot. If you opponent disregards this card and lets it go thorough, use up your 4 open red mana and get rid of whatever unneeded artifacts you have, and boom! Thank you for playing, please come again.

While I agree that I couldn't see this little thing actually being able to break Dartsteel, in the game itself, it can. Darksteel isn't immune to effects that make you sacrifice a card so you can sacrifice any Darksteel artifact to it... why you would want to is beyond me but you can.

What happened? I thought everything that ended in "-vore" was a lhurgoyf. (Well, except that one thing from Unglued. ...)

totally one me a release game. This had a grafted exoskeleton on it, he had four poison counters. swung, he forgot this kid could get pumped. Sacced a mox opal (heh heh) and then bam.
For laughs, draft the infamous Ferrovore Tainted Strike Deck. Furnace Celebration is your backup.

I can just tell I am in for a long night trying to justify the flavour to myself >_<
Yes yes, its magic I know, but even magic has some limitations, even if those limitations are self-imposed... LOL long night indeed.

@Stray_Dog
Personally, I think people forge Darksteel/Ferrovores digest it by making it not Darksteel, forging it, then making it turn back. Of course, this is probably ridiculously difficult, and only work with reality pockets or something, but meh.

@ClockwordSwordfish; Seriously? You're rating a good card down just because you don't think it should be able to melt Darksteel? They don't even tell you how much time it takes; it could take a year of digestive fluid to break the thing up.
That being said, saccing two Perilous Myrs to this guy gets you 8 damage swingin' and 4 damage floatin' around. I'd say he's definitely a better idea than Gnathosaur or Oxidda Daredevil for a red sac deck.

Probably great in limited, but I prefer Kiln Fiend.

Awesome and underrated card ...all you really have to do is give him some sort of unblockable or flying , smash a bunch (or all of your artifacts if you think its safe ) and go in for the win with an attack ...and if you have any mana left over , Fling him for the win ...its really not that hard ...Well , im actually building a reg aggro artifect deck right now , based around Semblance anvil ....so ,yeah ...those artifacts wouldnt really have cost me much to play anyways .Neither would this dude . R for a 2/2 that can get REALLY nasty REALLY quickly ? YES PLEASE
Edit : Oh ,I found out EXACTLY how to run this guy .......MEGA SWEET!
Have a bunch of Spellbombs , I would use : Flight spell bomb and panic spellbomb and a couple of perious myr on the field . Use 1 of the two spellbombs (which ever makes sence at the time ) and eat the rest , in addition to perious myr. ...At the VERY least , he gives you an exuse to sac the Myr ,maybe doing some power at the same time .

I'll rate this high because I like it. He's a good creature for both aggro and combo decks. Are there better creatures out there? Certainly. But there's a lot worse too, and this one seems playable in limited alongside a few Memnites and Assault Strobes. You can also run Glint Hawks alongside the Memnites for extra value.
