Pretty bad in constructed I'll admit, but you'll love seeing this card during a draft if you've already pulled a Spine of Ish Sah. Plus awesome flavor, no pun intended.

i think i have about 30 of these guys from two weekends worth or play, some common cards are far more common that other commons, ugh.

Compare to Rapacious One which, despite the difference in rarity, loses out in being harder to cast if you're running two or more colors, doesn't inherently have Trample, and can't make spawn tokens when it hits your opponent. Rarity certainly seems to have a large influence in power of newly printed cards these days, it seems.
The flavor text kind of makes it seem like it can't get -1/-1 counters on it. It's actually not a bad card (for limited), also helps out Molder Beast and is a pretty good fatty regardless.
Any deck I'd play this in I'd rather have a Megatog instead.

I rate this 5/5 because of some inside jokes and the decent combo this+Wellspring cards+Viridian Harvest+Fangren Marauder, all from the same block. If that's not commmon combo kill, I don't know what is.

Let's see: A red vanilla creature should be roughly 4/4 for 4R, right? I could see it being 3RR for one extra point of power and a trample ability that has a high cost in most situations. Therefore, this card is overcosted by 1, even for a common. Just my opinion.
