This is the kind of card that will only be released in a set where there are large numbers of fatties, many of them with trample. Still, great for control decks.

What's not to love about this card? I wanna say Wall of Denial is better though. This guy still needs to be protected, while WOD just sits there and blocks anything that comes along. Still, for monoblue/blue splash it's very solid, and the flavor/art is amazing.

It stops deathtouch, trample, lifelink, and first strike, and it has flying. Sorry Baneslayer, you've got no protection from jellyfish.

Throw a Whispersilk Cloak on this guy and it can block a hell of a lot of damage every turn with no fear of direct removal.
Very nice wall for low cost, and is tougher than some of its predecessors like Wall of Shadows.

Pretty good wall, but why the hell Blue has Preventing Damage all of a sudden ?! Blue prevents damage, white draws a card. What the hell? Are we living in a permanent Planar Chaos era now?
Better than Fog Bank. The toughness increase highly improves this card. Spells like pyroclasm, Shock or Last Kiss can't destroy it, The power increase makes it very powerful against creatures like 4/1 first strike. Only drawback.... this should have been a common card.

This just begs to be enchanted by Clout of the Dominus, Robe of Mirrors and such enchantments... Personally, I would not waste a Whispersilk Cloak when you can have previously said auras cheaper and with the same effect...

@BiOhyBr: Entangler would be kind of awesome on this guy, but I'd actually go with Gorgon Flail over Basilisk Collar since the +1 power means it could kill a second blocker per turn.
In Standard: Echo Circlet works well with this guy. The aforementioned Basilisk Collar obviously makes him more dangerous but your opponent will probably hang back until he has enough creatures to be worth losing one. This works much better with Alluring Siren or Rage Nimbus. To protect it, Eland Umbra helps against red removal (and trample), Eel Umbra helps against most nonwhite removal, and Vines of Vastwood is, well, Vines of Vastwood. Or use Whispersilk Cloak or Asceticism for a more static type of protection.

here's what i put previously
it does stop trample as you cannot assign lethal damage to it. if this meant you could still trample, then a trample creature with 2 can assign 1 to some creature with more than 2 defence, then trample over as it cannot assign lethal damage.
