Kill two tokens for one mana. RDW is getting a lot of tools. Shame they're all sorceries.

If this were instant-speed it'd be ridiculous. Kill their alpha-striking Ball Lightnings and Hellspark Elementals? Yes please.

*sigh* A man can dream...

This is pretty good! Clear those */1's and tokens like the other guy said. Good times.

ah, another good card that would have been the star of pauper. but alas, it's an uncommon and as such will see no play in any format.

It's cool. But a real shame it's not an instant. And it's an uncommon, seriously, why the hell not make this an instant? Anyway, any card that lets you two-for-one is good in my book.

There are better burn spells but a nice way to deal with annoying 1 toughness creatures bonus points for flavor text

Makes for interesting choice in deck design. Do you want Lighting Bolt for 3 damage at instant speed or do you want 2 damage capable of being split between targets at sorcery speed? I would have preferred to see this as a common but that's just nitpicking.

Kill those mana elves and birds dead.

The play value of this card definitely depends on how many Steppe Lynx, Plated Geopede, Bird of Paradise and Lotus Cobra are around in your local meta.

A brutal double-Time Walk versus Mythic Con***ion if you nail their Bird and Cobra on turn two-but don't get greedy. That scenario won't come up as often as you'd like.

take out two eldrazi spawn, or better yet two level 0 levelers before they become a problem.

I one day imagine a rare, or dare I say mythic, where there will be a "Forked Lightning Bolt" for 1 red and 3 divided damage as an instant.

This would have been great at common. Good utility. At uncommon, a little underwhelming.

sorcery and uncommon ruins this, instant and common would have worked.

if you used fire servant, can't you choose four targets? They way this card is worded, can't you choose 2 creatures and 2 players?

Fork a Forked Bolt? LOL.

@Edrocks006: Fire Servant says, "it deals double that damage." Nowhere on the card does it say anything about doubling targets. Therefore, you still have to choose one or two targets.

Also, given a ruling from Fire Servant, a Servant-doubled Forked Bolt would not deal 4 damage as you choose divided among up to two target creatures and/or players, but would rather deal 2 damage divided as you choose, then doubled. What this means is that you aren't doubling the damage and then dividing it, but dividing it and then doubling. You can't deal 3 damage to a target with a Servant-doubled Forked Bolt, for example.

155 reasons to use this card in standard ladies and gentlemen.

Remember, red seldom has 2 for 1 capabilities and usually run into issues where they "burn out" around the last few points of damage to close the game out. This opens up opportunities to close this gap by either 2 for 1 against certain decks and certain plays, or nuke a x/1 and deal a point of damage or kill off an x/2

I myself play red how a white or blue player would play red and this gives red intelligent damage rather than brute force or simplicity at a balanced price of options.

If this we're instant, it would be over powered as a card in general and in all control decks, they would have the chance to splash in red because they enjoy 2 for 1's. So good show wizards. Giving smart plays the chance to materialize and the players that think out of the box a chance to have more options more often.

BEST.FLAVOR TEXT.PERIOD. they should make a powered up version that just read "PLAY NO FAVOURITES! WELCOME TO DIEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Remember guys, instant and common would've been ridiculous in limited, and Wizards designs cards primarily for limited.

I can't even count the number of times I've spent 4 mana to get this effect from a Fireball. Sure, this isn't as versatile, but it's only 1 mana, what more do you want?

A bit of a sleeper card. It was designed to be very strong...outside of its own limited environment.
ROE has walls, monsters, and levelers, auras, and this has fewer targets than normal.

This was amazing in the format with Arc Trail in a deck where you want to attack with Neurok Commando early and often. Shoot some guys, beat for 2, draw a card. It's like a burn deck that cantrips.

The sorcery speed keeps this from being the ever-terrifying 'strictly better' card over shock. Still, this is a great card. Kill an X/1 and plink a player, kill an X/2, poke a player for two or (my favorite) kill two creatures and gain some card advantage. Nothing like red card advantage. I love this card to bits personally. It may lack the raw power of a lightning bolt, but its still one of my favorite burns ever.

Surely trumps shock, but what doesn't?

Edit: Instant speed would have made this a rare, which is the other major gripe people have about this card. I still like it better than Arc Trail.
