A very solid and extremely quick planeswalker, befitting his color. He acts as two free mana per turn in the beginning, and his ultimate is an Overrun. Even with 4 or 5 creatures, his ultimate can entirely decimate an opponent.
Also, I got him in my first M10 booster pack. That was a nice surprise.

Useful for a sort of mana accel (since two of your lands can be used twice) and for dropping Beasts down. If you play him in a deck with lots of Overrun or a Titanic Ultimatum, you don't even need to bother using his last ability.

Fastest Planeswalker available followed by Sarkhan Vol. With the mono green token decks that are easily made in Standard right now with Ant Queen, Master of the Wild Hunt, and Howl of the Night Pack he destroys with his ultimate. Every time I pull his ability off right now my creatures end up dealing no less then 60 trample damage and above and that does not include a Coat of Arms being in play.

mana acceleration, decent sized creature generator, and final alpha strike boost generator. In one card. 5/5

I think he is good with a token deck like, umm a Green/Blue Deck because there are many counters and effects from blue to keep you going and many strong creatures or very many token making cards for green. Every Planeswalker has a purpose with the color they go with. Like people who don't like Jace may not play a strong blue deck, same for all other planeswalkers.

If I had a green deck, he would be first in. Such a good planeswalker. A friend of mine mains a green/naya deck. I just pulled him yesterday ALONG with the promo Garruk from the MTG game on XBL. He's not too happy with me right now. :D

Very handy, And I got him, along with Jace, in my first Fat pack. I could buy another fat pack with only three of the rares I pulled in that pack.

This guy shows what green is all about. Throw some mana acceleration out in the early game. Start growing up your mini army then just overwhelm your opponent as they shake your hand and concede defeat. Running this in my green/red cascade deck as well as Sarkhan vol. This guy provides a MASSIVE boost especially mid-game and throwing the fatties.

Is the XBL version legal for play? I have one and wanted to make sure. Also, do you have to tap planswalkers when you use thier abilities or can you use all of them till you run out of loyalty points?

He is my favorite planeswalker. Great abilities, and able to use his ultimate the turn after he comes in. If you need a few extra creatures, he's there for you. Great card.

personally i find this to be a perfect example of esencial green. however despite the power this planeswalker evidently exudes the low loyalty is a serious drawback that can be fatal to a deck strategy especialy if it revolves around this card, which as i've heard many times over they often do .

Awesome card, but I must say I don't really like the new art for Garruk in the Garruk Vs Liliana Duel Deck.
garruk is really more of a helper than anything else, tho, cuz he just lets you spam lands and play beasts. His last ability is overrun, which is an awesome ability, great in a green red deck

so he costs 2 (well 4, then provides 2 free mana)
he makes 3/3, out of fallout range, but not a double fallout
and he gives an overrun the second turn he is out, assuming you untapped first turn out
is there a bad side to this guy, he is as GREEN as you can get, each ability is green, he just exudes an aura of awesome green magics, awesome in every deck that uses creatures and can make 2 green

this is probably, objectively, the best planeswalker. (though my heart is always with sarkhan) not flashy like the others but with 3 very useful, efficiently costed, and consistent abilities. reusing 2 lands a turn is probably one of the best manna excel effects ever, and on a 4 cmc body it's very cheap if you can reuse it. his second ability is, at very worst (VERY WORST) a hill giant, and his last is overrun, one of the most common green win conditions. and with the final one turn away it can most likely be used whenever you need. It is cheap, useful, efficient, and multipurpose. Can find a place in all green decks, and most decks which use green. not game breaking but consistent.

All planeswalkers combo with Doubling Season, but Garruk combos best. He's green, his second ability creates token creatures, and his ultimate is made for token decks. And if you have the Season out when Garruk comes into play, he can ultimate immediately.

I run this guy in my beast deck, the first ability is amazing with contested cliffs, if i have a red utopia sprawl on a forest he gives 2 creature kills the turn he come into play and then an overrun the next. Extreamly powerful.

he's great and will see lots more play again once green aggro picks up again. He works nicely with the Eldrazi Temple which taps to a 2. He's not broken though.

Dangerous in token rush decks. Though the more common situation when I'm playing with my fav deck. "I put down Garruk and I use-" "Lightning Bolt, he's dead." "But I used his abil-" "Its played as a sorcery, dead."

you don't have priority. you can't lightning bolt until you do. Garruk can use his +1 ability to untap 2 lands and gain the 1 loyalty counter as part of using the ability, in response you may lightning bolt. If they make the 3/3 beast then in response you could lightning bolt and destroy him but they would still get the beast.

I like garruk (He was my first planeswlaker) but I don't really like the flavor.. his abilities are pretty broken, but shouldn't he do something BIGGER? I mean, he's the embodiement of green, and maybe he should have had an ability like ajani's...
BIG, BAD, CREATURE W/P/T=your life!
Instead, they opted for a green ability, but not a VERY green one.
That said, he's my third favorite planeswalker, first Jace, and then the other Jace.

Ok question about the first ability of Garruk Wildspeaker and others with that ability like Arbor Elf, let’s say you have a card in your hand that cost 5 mana but have only 3 lands and you have Garruk out. Could you use his first ability to play the card? Same question with the elf if you hand four lands.

@GodWars yes you can. Just tap your lands and float the mana, then use the afforementioned abilities to get the rest of the mana!

Mana ramp, possible card advantage, Overwhelm, ults the turn after he comes out if you want. Totally brutal and requires an instant reaction out of the opponent unless they just love being hit for 10-20 the next turn.
EDIT: Using him with Life//Death, as it can mean a 12-16 point attack T3-T5. A deck using that card can also make significant use of Death to nab efficient beaters or utility creatures.
