Awesome, no doubt about it. Very cheap misdirection.

The reason he looks so strange is that during the Onslaught block (in which he was originally printed) the Mirari, an incredibly powerful artifact that grants the desires of its possessor, has been stuck into the ground of the Krosan Forest. This causes the Mirari to leak its power into the surrounding land; eventually pulses of magic from the Mirari reach the entirety of the continent of Otaria. This has a warping effect on its inhabitants: they become exaggerated versions of themselves. Soldiers become hugely-musclebound and lose their mouths, elves become massive, almost tree-like beings covered in vines, and wizards become fluid, almost water-like beings made of energy.

However for the most part, mechanically, the cards themselves retain their original creature type, though some gain the "mutant" creature type, as well.

One of the funnest things to do with a Willbender is to stick some massive aura on it. When your opponent grabs the obvious two-for-one by removing, you redirect the removal on to one of THEIR creatures for a 2-for-0! Even if they take it out afterwards you're up a card.

Could a more experience player tell me if this effect works on auras as well? As in if someone put one on their creature/land, could I transfer control to one of mine instead?

What he's saying is along the lines of "How about no."

If they try to Pacifism your creature, you can move to either a different one of yours or return to one of theirs. If they cast Giant Growth onto theirs, you can say you want it on a different creature of theirs or one of yours. If they equip a Demonmail Hauberk on one of their creatures, you can move it to a different one of theirs. If they toss a Devil's Play at you, you can return it back to hit them instead. It moves any spell or ability from one legal target onto another legal target.

Ok so can someone help me answer this question? So my opponent plays an equiptment then goes to equip it, I morph willbender can I choose one of my creatures as the new target for that equiptment? Or is that a nonlegal target?

That face-down card you see? It's always a Willbender.

Always.

This card is the most absolutely fun thing ever in multiplayer, really happy to see it reprinted.
Fantastic almost-counterspell for creature-based decks, where you don't want to bother with Redirect or Swerve.
The coolest part is that he works with creature abilities, too!
