this card might not be card advantage, but its a HUGE form of card Quality selection. Frantic Search was card disadvantage, but because it was cheap/free/Actually gave you mana it was playable. This is similar. Trade your chaff for thier Hellkite Overloard and watch them cry.

I love this card for being so incredibly cheap and for not being held back by the infuriating "nonblack" clause. It brings many and evil grin to wipe out an opponent's best creature in exchange for your weakest. I have a penchant for tokens so this is as close to my perfect creature removal as I have found.

Sorcery-speed removal = bad removal = this.

It's not a bad removal if you have tokens or unearth to pay the additional cost.

That said, if you can get an instant speed removal, get an instant speed removal.

I still like Terror or Terminate alot better than this card, but it is still playable. Works nicely if your opponent has a fatty that you cant deal with by just blocking.

If this were instant speed, it would be terrifically playable, and would probably warrant rare status (if not uncommon). At sorcery speed, it's not great at all in many situations, and you'd probably want cards that are more reliable across a variety of situations rather than those that can help you in the "one-in-twenty-games" types.

This is the absolute best removal if you're running Abyssal Persecutor. A one-cost, post-combat main phase sacrifice that can't be countered, as it's part of the casting cost.

Play this card with grave pact or field of souls on the field and laugh.

One of my friends runs one of those silly decks w/ bazaar trader and threaten. I HATE this card! I've got a nocturnus, for example, he takes it, swings for 5 (or maybe 3, whatever), then throws it at my nighthawk.Grrrr....

Saccing a creature is a big cost, sorcery-speed removal doesn't allow that many tricks, and unfortunately the targeted creature can stll be regenerated.
But it's still black removal that doesn't have the nonblack-clause, requires very little mana and it's very advantageous if you want to get rid of one of your creatures anyways.

Regarding flavor, when glancing at Terror and then back to Bone Splinters, no artifact creatures should be allowed to be sacrificed or destroyed through this card.
...then again, i'll gladly sacrifice a Myr Servitor for this process.

As mentioned by others, great with Abyssal Persecutor. I'm not sure about it otherwise because you lose card advantage, but sometimes getting rid of a pesky creature is more important than card advantage.

I dunno...I'm a little hesitant to donate my bones to the cause at sorcery speed.

reassembling skeleton says hello. Again and again. Till your opponents' board is wiped clean or you run out of bone splinters.

Excellent combo card when coupled with a few Mortivore's

Take out one of your own 1 cost suicide creatures and get rid of a nuisance of theirs, and as a bonus getting +2/+2 on morty

MasterOfEtherium calling me a horrible player...

I would have to cut the hypocrisy with a steak knife.

A single use Attrition. Except Attrition can only target nonblack creatures.

Although normally a 2-for-1, many people miss that this has no restriction on what creatures it can target, as opposed to Doom Blade or Go For the Throat. Considering the availability of Unearth creatures such as Hellspark Elemental, this is pretty good.

Combos with Giant Shark and any of the Gomazoa creatures, somehow. Still trying to figure that one out.

Reassembling Skeletons works well with this. Not to mention, it's great skeleton flavor.

Not many people have mentioned the great synergy it has with Unearted creatures.
