I like this guy. A lot. RGW Landfall aggro seems like a viable deck idea for the new standard.

A giant centepede creature? Nice. Works with strongly landfall? Awesome. Am I going to buy a play-set of them? Definitely.

Got this set in my new build. Landfall with Teetering Peaks and you got a 5/3 creature with first strike! Owning!

How is this even fair? High pick in limited, usually a 3/3 first strike for 2. Then in constructed, with the search lands in standard now, it's a 5/5 first striker for 2! Only drawback is the 1 toughness on the opponent's turn, but you wouldn't expect it to survive a Bolt anyway, so it hardly matters. In short: WHY is this a common?!?!

This is the best weenie landfall creature. The built-in first strike willl likely ensure you get a couple of attacks through early in the game. First strike also helps if you also have instant direct damage. It allows a 1 for 1 trade with a bigger non-first striker if you bolt it before first strike damage is dealt.

To be fair, it may be awesome when you get your land, but incredibly inconsistent if you don't, what happens if you play it and your next 2 top deck draws are both creatures or something else? Then you spent 2 mana on a 1/1 first striker.

This and steppe lynx are both insane for aggro and are two of the best commons i've ever seen.

In a red green landfall deck playing Plated Geopede playing this on turn 2 followed by a land the next turn together with harrow causes this creature to rocket to a 7/7 on turn 3 with first strike.

This killed me in every pre release draft game. I never got one. :(
Unless you have something that returns lands to hand, which I have yet to see in red, this thing will just get chump blocked once or twice. Would be awesome with trample instead.

At the prerelease, I played this. My opponent laughed and said "Woah! I'm so scared of your1/1!" Next turn, I played Harrow and attacked with a 7/7 first striker on turn three. That wiped the smirk off his face.

Solid landfall weenie. First strike is cool anytime.

Completely deadly when combined with Teetering Peaks or Terramorphic Expanse.
I beat one of my friends in six turns because of this guy. Absolutely amazing card.

Heh. Who's the douche that rated every comment on here .5? That aside, this is a pretty sick card. W/R landfall is fierce, mind you.

Sure this does get chump blocked at 7/7 sometimes for me but a lot of times I've forced control decks to lose a baneslayer or to trade(when its a 5/5). To me that's a good deal. 4.5/5

With either Sword of Vengeance or Basilisk Collar, this guy holds Vengevine and Bloodbraid Elf at bay. A fetchland and he's 5/5 or more, bashing through them even if they double block. And if they kill him, he's cheap enough to just redeploy with a Grim Discovery - and hey, why not grab that fetchland while you're down there! Thanks, synergistic cards.
This guy is amazing in zendikar drafts. The only card I would pick over him is trusty machete

I'd like some way to give it trample and then go nuts with fetch lands. Watch out for Fog.

Rubber: (whinewhinewhine) "In short: WHY is this a common?!?!"
STOP COMPLAINING that they're printing good, if basic, 4-of cards at common! I WANT to be able to build my decks for cheap!

Just pulled the best combo in months today: by turn 4 I had a Plated Geopede out with both Adventuring Gear and Explorer's scope on it, I dropped my Teetering peeks and swinged with a 7/5 first strike, Explorer's Scope got me another Teetering Peaks, That buffed Plated Geopede to 13/9, he was gonna block with his bloodghast but i bolted it back to its mama, he gave up instantly lol

Absolutely love the art, and the landfall ability fits well in Red, as well.

@Zakando: You mean, they were going to block with their Bloodghastbefore they realized Bloodghast can't block.

Zendikar had some really neat commons. While trample would have fit flavorfully, it's probably for the best that this is less exciting. Swinging for 7 on turn 3 is not something to be taken lightly.
