I would enjoy using this if a Repercussion is in play. If that's the case, you win the game if your opponent controls a creature that can be targeted and you have more life than your opponent.

Aswome card, the old 1 2 3 punch is pretty effective, either with 1rst turn bolt, 2nd turn Mog Maniac(or Ragged Veins ), and third turn covenant. Also good with b/r lifedrain obviosly. Works great with Spitemare or Stuffy Doll. Also beats out counterspell cause the life is not part of the casting sost :)

I'm gonna try sticking this in an EDH deck. A hit of 6 or 7 life could be fine to get rid of tokens, and the fact that you could go after a larger creature gives you some flexibility. Of course, it may be a little too painful. I'll have to see. Obviously, not the best card to deal with a gigantic Kresh the Bloodbraided or The Mimeoplasm...

Spitemare and Stuffy Doll...I'm sure there's others. Could also target your own Swans of Bryn Argoll for an instant speed "pay {X} life: draw {X} cards" sort of effect.

That said, awesome card. Takes out blockers, takes out attackers, takes out... anything, really, for the right cost.

People squeamish about losing life miss out on great cards like this. This is SO inexpensive and versatile! It really can change most creature situations to your favor at any phase of the game--and for 3 mana! Wanna kill a half dozen tokens? Can do. Wanna kill three fatties? Also can do. It's a Swiss army knife of removal that doesn't hit your own creatures. Very good. 4.5/5.
