One of the best cards in the Urza's block by far!! an essential engine to any enchantment deck and a real winner in many other, Taj Palace give's this card 2 thumbs way up!!

This card can fuel about a million combos. And wtf, since when does green have a better draw aspect than blue?

With her in play and Rancor in hand, Auratog says "pay one green mana: auratog gains +2/+2 and trample. Draw a card."

I actually prefer the Verduran version over her for nostalgia, and the ability to limit my card drawing. I also have a Verduran playset and don't feel like paying 80 bucks for shroud.

At 2 mana, she comes out quicker than the Verduran, and shroud gives her some protection. On the other hand, Verduran is tougher, and can have auras casted onto herself. Best option, don't bother worrying about which is better, run both (and Mesa Enchantress if your deck includes white).

Got my set today, a full playset of judge foils in great condition for only eighty bucks! Can see myself using them for a long, long while.

Wish I could use Strip Bare on her, but sadly she has shroud.

In all seriousness though, great card. Excellent card draw for any deck that runs lots of enchantments

"Only $80 bucks"... I say that when I get 30-50 cards, not 4. I could never bring myself to get this for my Commander deck, which is sad, because it'd love it.

Oh well, Verduran Enchantress will do for me.

Interestingly enough, this card's shroud is actually a disadvantage. You can't use it as an enchantment target, unfortunately.

Yeah yeah, great card, five stars and all that... ok, this is bugging me; can anyone tell me what that critter on her shoulder is?
EDIT: Still no answer on what that critter is... It looks like a cat, but has... hands? And lordy look at that tail. Please guys, what is that thing?!

I play this card because it is attractive
I play this card because of crushing card advantage
I play this card because Solitary Confinement exists

But most of all, i play this card for the slump of shoulders, and the look of hopeless despair, as i play lockpiece after lockpiece and my hand just keeps growing.

A clear 5/5 monster of a card loved by all different kinds of players.

Slam dunk.

@XTwistedsoulx: Oddly enough, it kind of resembles a Treecat from David Drake's Honorverse. Perhaps the Argothian Enchantress is a parallel reality version of Honor Harrington: untouchable, and having her around guarantees you're going to have an unfair advantage.

Aside from that, all I have to say is that just when I think I've seen every broken Urza block card, I find a new one.

This needs to be banned, because it shlts on anything else thats doing the same thing as it. "Not in every deck" and "enchantment decks arnt broken" is not the argument. The argument is clearly this thing is stronger then the rest of the enchantment drawers.

By the logic you present, Lightning Bolt should be banned. "Nothing else is quite as good as it at doing what it does" is not a decent argument for banning.

I bought a fair bit of Urza's Saga and never pulled one. Wish I did.

That said...shroud's nice, but it gets this card overrated some. Black can deal with this withPestilence or any untargeted removal. White's got Wrath of God. Red needs just one point of blanket burn and more options to name. Blue can just have it not hit the board at all and green will just wipe all your enchants out anyway. A card draw engine like this was ahead of its time in Urza's block but draw has become more plentiful in green lately.

Best enchantress hands down and I have all of them. And use all of them in my EDH deck.

It's worth noting that the card draw on this is mandatory, unlike Mesa and Verduran enchantresses. But as for the shroud, Simic Guildmage, Autumn-Tail, Kitsune Sage, and the classic Crown of the Ages will all let you bypass it because they don't target. Or ditch a Mythic Proportions into your graveyard and Nomad Mythmaker it onto her.

Another mistake of a card from urza's saga.

As to the argument for/against banning, I think banning only ever happens when one deck type gets too good or if a card is in every type of deck. That is certainly not the case here.
The problem, however, is that with this in existence its impossible for wizards to make aura control viable without this card, since aura control with this card would just blow everything else out of the water. Which is sad for anyone who wants to play aura control but doesn't have 80 bucks to drop.

It's similar to how minotaurs are a dangerous tribe to print because of didgeridoo.
