How and why is this rated so low? Cranial Extraction and Extirpate are freaking bombs in duo color or mono color black decks. Haunting Echoes, Tendrils of Corruption, Corrupt... I mean this card is right up there with them. It lets you do the one thing that black decks have wanted to do for years, search a library and remove these cards so your opponent doesn't have access to them. Power 5/5

It's a really great support. i have two of this in my nightmare deck and it's enough to cripple your opponent's library. Great Card!!

I've had to deal with New Phyrexia's Preator's Grasp and Life's Finale... It sucks being on the receiving end, losing some key parts to a combo..

It probably has to do with having a huge CMC on a card that doesn't effect the game state immediately. Extirpate and Cranial Extraction were bombs against combo decks (and really only sideboarded ones, at that) because they could be used before the opponent could put together his combo. Six turns is a lot of time to wait, and you can't just rush out this card with a Dark Ritual without hurting it's potency.

Extirpate and Cranial Extraction also had the decency to hit any copies of the exiled cards that might be in the opponent's hand, generating at least card parity. Nightmare Incursion is card disadvantage every time you cast it.

in a mono-black deck, this is more efficient than the cap..

Put it into a ramp deck, play urborg, tomb of yawgmoth and watch peoples eyes roll as you take your sweet time rummaging through their libraries...

the CMC is slightly high, but in a pure black deck, this is a death sentence for their best cards. If you have enough swamps or Urborg, you are going to take out at least a fifth of their deck.

that's insane. if you use the tomb of yawgamoth, you can do this in ANY DECK.

Doubling season + life and Limb + tomb of yawgamoth + This = mass deck removal.

overall, pretty nice removal card, but needs to be in a black deck or in a urborg deck to run perfectly.

Expensive, but potent. Could've gone for a bit more Black in its casting cost rather than 1. We all know no one is going to use this outside of a mono-black deck, and Umbra Stalker needs all the tasty Black it can get.
