I rate this card pretty high, it's useful as just an extra little bit of damage for almost nothing if you have a frogtosser banneret out, and give it Blight Sickle and you have a 4/1 that no one is gonna want to block, and if they do, well it comes right back.

It's a 3/1 for 2 mana that you can essentially play from the graveyard. You wouldn't block with a creature like this anyways, so there's almost no downside.

A very, very powerful card for such a low mana cost, though only in a goblin deck. You can sacrifice it to any number of goblin cards like goblin bomb or arms dealer, then attack, bring it back and play it for its prowl cost (or less, with a frogtosser banneret or goblin war chief). From there, you could sacrifice it again if you wanted, or keep it for next turn... It's like Squee, Goblin Nabob, except with attacking power and an easy cheap cost effect.
Meant to be played for his prowl cost (obviously). pretty powerful ability, wates opponent chump blockers and aviods most removal.

I've always cringed at 3/1's for 3. It's a rare, a non-red goblin and can't block. It's like a conditional Undead Gladiator, that doesn't draw you cards.

One letter away from being highly inappropriate.

I'm not sure why this card's rating is so low. Definite solid card, with lots of potential. Perhaps people went "OMG 3/1 for 3CMC NO THANKS" without realizing this card is meant to be played for it Prowl cost, and its recursion makes it a veritable threat. And because it's a Rogue, it synergizes with non-Goblins as well, namely Oona's Blackguard.
Easily 4/5 in the right deck.

Isn't he just the douchiest-looking goblin you've ever seen?
A pair of rotating Snitches helped me chew up my opponents board while Inkfathom Infiltrator and friends minced my opponent.

Seems like a great fit with Trespasser il-Vec.

Hm. I'm not sure how I feel about this edition of the Nether Shadow pedigree. He looks like he should be wonderful, but I haven't enjoyed him as much as I'd hoped. He'd be overpowered if he could block, but as it stands he's completely invalidated if the opponent controls a single creature with first strike or toughness of 4. And if he gets killed by combat damage he won't be in the graveyard in time for his recursion to trigger.
I may just be spoiled by Gravecrawler. Comes out sooner, can be brought back more cheaply, with less fuss and more than once per turn, and with tribal support he can easily be a 5/4, have deathrouch, or be sac fodder to a Fleshbag Marauder or Grimgrin. Maybe goblins can use this guy better than rogues, but goblins are a very powerful archetype so I assume they have better choices.

Ah well. Still better than Akuta, Born of Ash.
