I've been waiting for this card ever since double strike came out. It's only drawback being dependant on power of creature.

This card is a game winner... It is very useful in many situations. It can save your creatures by giving them first strike... It can help kill off one of their fatties. It can finish off the player when they think they can take 5 because they have 9 life.

Reasonably decent if it's the last card you play to end the game, but in most cases it'll just be Win More or useless cardboard.

Very fun if you use this on a creature with wither. Then if the blocker survives, it wont hit back as hard.
Assault Strobe is cheaper, not better. This is better because it's an instant while the Strobe is a sorcery.
Cleavage and poison just go great together.

I prefer Soul's Fire. It cost's one mana more and it's only red, but being able to do target a creature or player is a lot better than just giving a creature doublestrike.
Great with artifact decks that have cranial plating. Also great on any large creature:) It is a tossup between this card, Soul's Fire, and Fling. They all accomplish the same goal, just in different ways. I love the instant speed and multicolored nature. 4.5/5.

Assault Strobe isnt white, and this can be used for defence (even though it's a very offencive card). Also, get a 3 (or more) power creature (eg Centaur Coarser) and cast: Distortion Strike Tainted Strike This. Kill for Just . Possible turn 3.

I played back in the day when Berserk was considered an overpowered card, so seeing this at common made me do a doubletake. It can turn the tables both offensively and defensively, and the high volume of potential targets - which do not necessarily die, by the way - make this potentially a game-winner in the right situations. Slith Firewalker hits twice, ending up a 3/3 after one attack. Ball Lightning goes nuts for 12. Vorosh, the Hunter hits you for 18 and gets ridiculously huge. Guardian of the Gateless suddenly turns the tables on an opponent's swarm, striking down an army of saprolings.
The only thing is, it's not particularly good if your creature is weak, and not great in all situations. It won't prevent your creature from being removed, and is not great against an army of chump blockers, Guard Gomozoa and the like, etc.
