if anyone is seriously getting use out of this card then your deck must be very taxing... is this really part of your unbeatable gameplay? are you really counting on clash to try and continually get this back for reuse? you're not excited about the little libary action you'll get out of this card are you? I wouldn't mind drafting it at all... other than that I think the most important thing about a card like this is the quirky nature it represents in magic, and even though it may get lucky seeing casual play, it's nice to have so many crazy versions and alternative ways to do what we do best.

I love this card. It's not particularly great, but I love it. The art and name really embody Lorwyn. Lorwyn is an idyllic place. Red mages there don't send lightning bolts at you. They don't send waves of flame at you. They send ants at you.

Near useless, but I want to buy this card just so I can say "RELEASE THE ANTS!"

I say "RELEASE THE ANTS" when Yavimaya Ants hit the board. This is more like "Turn the faucet a bit so the ants can trickle out."

If someone were to imprint this on say, the Isochron Scepter... would you get the exiled card back into your hand?

@CaptHanJovi: No. You play the copy, so you'd get the copy back to your hand. However, since it's a copy, it would disappear immediately.

Bury the fool to his neck. Apply the honey to his head... RELEASE THE ANTS!!
However the art and the name is very amusing, I request more of these 'release' cards to be made!
Release the Hounds! Release the Kitties! Release...Me!

Given its cycle (Revive the Fallen, Research the Deep, Redeem the Lost, Recross the Paths and Release the Ants) is composed of well-known spells that cots 1 extra mana for the clash mechanic, this really should deal 2 damage (Shock) instead of only 1. As it is, it's almost unplayable, unlike Recross the Paths and Revive the Fallen, which I actually run in some decks.

Guys, this card is meant to take out utility creatures, with a chance of rearming your ant cannon for another mana dork.
And also, if this cost it would seriously be broken. All you would need is some top deck manipulation and this card would be a mana efficient Blaze @ instant speed that you can divide that damage as you wished, thats also hard to counter. Oh and you can do it every turn. Just imagine with Sensei's Divining Top.

One point of interest: Since this can be cast multiple times before your next draw and Clash can put the card back on top, if you can place a high CMC card on the top of your library you can easily spam this.
Unfortunately it's somewhat shown up by Pyromatics unless you plan to use it over multiple turns.

Omniscience/Infinite Red Mana + Braonstorm/Top of library manipulation = Win (I have never realised that clashing cards can go on the top or bottom of a library before o.O)
Essentially, the deck Show and Tells an Omniscience into play, then casts Enter the Infinite, drawing your library and putting Emrakul, the Aeons Torn on top of your library. Then, you Cunning Wish for this card out of the sideboard and cast it for free an unlimited number of times to deal infinite damage to your opponent, and unless the opponent is playing Show and Tell with Emrakul, you win (I assume that if you see your opponent is playing Show and Tell as well, you just use plan B: Show and Tell Emrakul into play before they do)
Sure, it's a fringe strategy, mostly used for classiness. It's a lot more efficient to just play Sneak-and-Show Emrakul because you don't waste valuable sideboard slots for an otherwise dead card and you don't waste deck space for Omniscience and Enter the Infinite. But think about how awesome it would be to tell your friends after a Legacy tournament that "I killed a man using Release the Ants in the second most powerful, degenerate format in existence"
Other than this niche strategy, though, it sucks :(

The card is a bit underwhelming, if I want reusable burn, I rather use Pulse of the Forge, Hanabi Blast and even Hammer of Bogardan
However the art and the name is very amusing, I request more of these 'release' cards to be made!
