I know this one kid who thinks the card is so awesome. He has it in a deck where he has very little card draw and frequently has less than three cards in his hand. It might be useful in a few decks, but for the most part pretty bad. Only an uncommon though.

This is good if you have trouble playing spells b/c of mana problems or if you're trying to save certain spells. Also this card almost indefinitely extends Malfegor's potential. Especially when you start drawing cards that are expendable.

It has its purposes, namely in the sanity grind/turbo fog decks with howling mines and jace. I also might run them in my planeswalker deck. I frequently have nine cards in hand, sometimes ten when I am up against turbo fog, and having this would be really nice. Also with 12 vivids and 4 reflecting pool I do not really need the colored mana.

My viewpoint of this card has changed drastically since i first saw this card. Originally i saw it as a waste of an uncommon. Spellbook wasnt even a popular card in standard, so why would a Spellbook land be any better?
Of course once i saw its potential in decks like Turbo Fog and Cruel Control, i quickly changed my opinion. Now it's still decent at best, but at least it has found a home in some very popular archetypes.

I wouldn't say I love this card but it has its uses and running one or two in a deck that often has a hand over seven cards is a good idea...

I like it. You have to have some silly card drawing going on to make it worthwhile, but when it is, it's awesome. I've had 38 cards in hand due to this.

Depends on what kind of deck you're using. Decks similar to Esper draw control would do best with Spellbook, cheap fuel for Master Transmuter. However, in most other draw decks would do better with This card.

I'm mixed on this card, it can be good, for example if your opponent plays forced fruition against you, or is using jace when your hand is full. On the other hand, many games by mid way I don't have anything I'm keeping in hand and not playing to begin with. I could see how a card with forecast could be used to advantage with it, or in my case I get limited use out of it when I have a creature equipped with mask of riddles or curiosity, and I'm playing my lorescale where I'm trying to get as many card draws as possible.
I think this is good in a deck where you are planning on drawing a lot because instead of having to use another card in your deck on a Spellbook you can just have some of your lands have this ability for you leaving room for another card.

Great fun, but only useful if you have a deck that draws an absurd amount of cards. I run four in a deck based around Howling MineSpiteful VisionsUnderworld Dreams etc just because otherwise there would be turns where I would have to discard like 5 cards.
Oh and it also produces colorless mana, which makes it a step above spellbook.

spellbook is better when you are artifact shopping due to its cost this is good in any deck where you are drawing 3+ cards a turn, you can play 1 land a turn, and you can cast a few spells, if you go for your biggest each turn you will end with a net of 1 usually. Now if you are into control or fog, where you wont be casting many spells on your turn, you can hold more counters and fogs in your hand plus if you are going for cards that are better with more cards in hand, this is insane

A niche card that is fairly useful when your deck can make use of it. Obviously not an auto-include, but invaluable in the decks that frequently get 7+ cards in their hand.

Shoot, I think it works good with biomantic mastery, and in my artifact deck, @owls_and_more_owls thats a good idea. That would work great, thanks for the idea! oh, and to the person who said to just use spellbook instead, I have to say, why wouldn't you use this, it is still free and you can tap it for a colorless mana? What more can you ask for.

wow, i once had a jace beleren and 3 howling mines on the field all at once, all making me and my opponent draw 5 cards a turn. i had reliquary tower on the field. he didn't.
and since i was playing a mill control, that was 5 less cards i had to shave off his deck every turn :D

Can you say Skullclamp or Necrologia.... I cant see how this would be a bad card in just about any deck that didnt rely on cards going into the graveyard. It gives one colorless with no hitches and just lets you keep all the cards you draw without any strings attached. Good land card all the way around unless you absolutely have no use for 1 colorless .
Never underestimate the big hand. I know we all saw the foo fighters video, Everlong. If you havent, go see it now, I'll wait....

I actually love this card. Why not put it in a deck using a draw mechanic? Combo with ivory tower and especially noetic scales.

I run this in a Domain control deck with allied strategies and all suns' dawn and spiraling embers. When my opponent is vigotously countering my couple of massive creatures I am busy building up to a 25+ dmg spiraling embers :)

I personally prefer spellbook, but in the deck i use them in i run bowth. 3 of this and 4 spellbooks because the deck is in the high 70's and i have to draw them or i'm screwed. I run less of this because i run a few cards that require only colored mana, and this interferes with my land drop. Though really, slightly worse or even slightly better than spellbook is nothing to scoff at, can be a great combo enabler.

No mention of good ol' Library of Leng? I happen to prefer the library for its anti-discard abilities, and it only costs 1 more than Spellbook while not soaking up a land drop with colorless mana.

An excellent card for EDH. It lets you sit and stockpile, building up until it's time for your final move. In the worst case, it's still mana, which doesn't really hurt to have.

If u run alot of card draw just throw like 2 of these in your deck as a lil security measure. Cant rly hurt. ( aside from wasteland I guess ) and 2 land slots shouldnt mess your mana-fixing barring 4-5 color decks

A long time ago I looked at this card and wondered why it was so cheap. Now it's pretty expensive (in terms of my budget), and I'm beating myself up wondering why I never got a playset instantly ;~;
This land should have the land type Tower. Simply because Tower is in the name and Tower is a valid land type.

Whenever I see this card, or Spellbook, or any of the MaRo creatures, I am reminded of the Slifer the Sky Dragon + Revival Jam combo on YuGiOh!.....that was the most epic card game I was stuck in the audience for.
