Let's just go monoblue and use hermetic study and curiosity... going multicolor takes away from the amount of untap power if you reduce the number of islands.

5 out of 5 just for sheer combo possibility. Better than must of the untap cards in shadowmorr block IMO, as it tends to cost far less mana to untap it. (Although I guess it would depend on the additional effect you get from the untap as well)
back in the time of urzas block somebody got me with an infinite combo using this card. i forget what other cards they used but i think it was one that produced infinite mana to either mill my deck or give them infinte life. im pretty sure that they had a fertile ground on a land but what they had to keep untapping the land i dont remember. but well if they milled me they most likely used stroke of genius and if they gained infinite life it was probably just a stream of life

The card used was Earthcraft. it's a pretty nice combo, especially if you have a Blaze or Fireball
Amazing card! There are so many awesome combos with this guy that I won't even bother to count them. A good one that everyone here for some strange reason seem to have forgotten about is this fella' + Banishing Knack. Repeatable Boomerangs for one (U) each for a whole turn! How can you not love it?
By the way, to all people reading this and not in the knowing, Horseshoe Crabs are actually not crabs. They are not even crustaceans. The horseshoe crab species are actually from a completely separate cl*** of arthropods, and have remained biologically unchanged for millions of years. guys.. don't use deathtouch cards with Hermetic Study, use Charisma
Throw a Hermetic Study or Psionic Gift on it and your opponents will quickly wish they had some removal in their hands.

This guy had a kid. It grew up to be Soliton. It was even printed in the same set as Heavy Arbalest. The crab lives on!

So...why can horseshoe crabs untap? What does that even represent? o_O

This card is so unusually combo-y for having an unassuming name and art. I like!

There's a reason Hermetic Study wasn't in Tenth Edition. Put Curiosity on this too and it's basically game over. And I think they quoted Squee because he was IN Tenth Edition.

Crab +Hermetic Study+Sigil of Sleep. No creatures ever again, this combo brought to you entirely by the Urza's block and also uses nothing higher then a common.

The ability allows some awesome combos, for example with Viridian Longbow. But is a common horseshoe crab a flavorful creature in a fantasy world? I think not.

Hermetic Study + Curiosity + Sigil of Sleep ANDGilded Drake
No, Squee, you can't crack it open. It has a toughness of 3, while you have a power of 1. And then it will kill you, even though you'll just come back.

With Paradise Mantle, you can infinitely tap and untap it. I'm sure Johnnies can find something to do with that.
@ Arachnos: As a Johnny, I'll take your challenge. All it requires to make that little trick useful is a Wake Thrasher on the board. You can make him infinitely huge just by tapping and untapping the crab. You could also do it with Utopia Vow instead of Paradise Mantle, which isn't quite as nice of a card, but it is a lot cheaper to get a playset.

Things thing are pretty frightening in real life. Especially when you turn them over.

Quite tricky to implement though
