MMM your right... man i hate infinite loop combos i think they ruin the game. I never use em and think its cheap when others use em.

That infinite combo you hate so much costs 3 cards, two of which are 1 toughness creatures (before the shields). Even if you have no removal and no burn with which to get rid of those creatures, it only gets him infinite life, which doesn't help him win. You could use any number of infinite damage combos to just kill him, or use poison, or use a win condition card like Barren Glory or Mortal Combat. As OverfiendSurprise said, don't hate.
It is also only playable in the eternal formats. Legacy, and especially Vintage both have much , much nastier monsters (I'm looking at you flash-protean hulk).

I actually thought about playing this in legacy merfolk. There's a lot of aggro-type stuff in my area and if there's one thing merfolk do well it's turn sideways.
