Versatile yet uninspiring.

that has to do with the fact that it costs 6. I would make it a 2/3 for 2UU and get rid of shadow.

Would have been neat if it had been 4/6

Is there a card for that represents Jodah himself?

If you are giving it shadow for attack you may as well give it double strike as well. That will ensure 4 points get through.

A more decent remake of Urza's Avenger, blue double strike sounds awesome, too.
Looking forward to see a bunch of Planar Chaos' "Color Pie experiments" in future sets.

Tis card can really give blue the edge. I love Planar Chaos. (Gasp! Blue and white are powerful? No way!)

I was thinking, mmm, is there IN THE WORLD a better equipment target for Umezawa's Jitte????? So, of course, double strike and shadow, 4 damage for 6 mana, not ALL that great but what's with the 4 counters? Mmm, let's just say 20 damage next turn, or every other turn if this card survives.

@CriscoCookingOil

Sorry, no card but here's a link describing who he is

try using both double strike and shadow. He hits twice for 2 with an evasion that is almost as good as unblockable. Essentially making him unblockable for free.

He blocked my flametongue kavu and made it pro red, but it was a ruse, Ghostfire.

use double strike and shadow. A 4/4 with unblockability for 6 with lots of other options? I like this card.

Argh, why couldn't have a card for Jodah in any of the Time Spiral sets? He's such a cool and important character in the story line.

@Eved seriously guys this card is overpowered if you think about it... Green/Blue deck give him double strike (he is now a 3/3) give him shadow (2/2) then might of oaks him (9/9) finally use a giant growth (12/12) and well your opponent sits there and dies in amazement at your little 24 damage move that is almost always unblock able call it game... if he has a life deck then pop on a Grafted Exoskeleton (14/14) with double strike that puts him at about 28 poison counters... Good game

In the right game, this thing is fantastic.

The one use for this card: Experiment Kraj EDH. Giving Kraj evasion and absurd damage potential in one card is convenient in a highlander format. Six is a bit pricy, but not the end of the world.

@Tommy9898
it wasn't a ruse, it was a trap.

and someone Doom Blades it and you lose because you just put your huge hand on one creature that you must have cheated into play

this isn't pokemon, you can't just bring this out turn 0 every game and do that. OP? Yeah 6 mana says no

BTW I'm not a Doom Blade kills it fella, Doom Blade kills a lot of things, but if you invest a turn and 7 mana into something, it better not just die like that and still be called OP

Just use the shadow ability so it's an unblockable 3 damage and maybe enchant or equip it with something useful, perhaps Curiosity, the sword of X and Y, or something.

Great bait for The Mimeoplasm when the Commander decks come out.

This card has always seemed awesome, just to much effort to make work.

You could even kill him for free by using all his abilities, triggering other cards effects when a creature dies or goes graveyard!! Pretty nichè but cool nonetheless!

Even without anything buffing it up, you're hitting for 4 with shadow when you use shadow and double strike, and thats just gonna get a lot bigger faster as you buff it up. super versatile too.

Does quite a convincing Plasma Elemental impression.

2 per turn with shadow + vigilance is also pretty good. Leaves you with a 3/3 double-striking blocker, or even a pro-red one.

Combos with any kind of pump.

Interestingly, there IS one color that gets all of these abilities, but it's not Blue...

Nigh-unblockable 4 damage every turn, pretty cool I think. Though 6 mana is rather prohibitive.

This is the PERFECT card for Dimir's Cipher mechanic. In colour, makes itself unblockable, gives itself DOUBLE STRIKE for double cipher triggers, and can even save itself from burn, all in the same turn.

Not a big fan of this card. I want to love it, but its still 6 mana for a 4/4 creature, I would rather cast frost titan. 3/3 double strike is the only ability worth it, the others give some situation options though..
