For me, it was hard to find that beefy game finisher in my defensive-minded white/black deck. This was him.

An interesting and potent dragon. This guy is worth the cost of admission. He's tri-colored, but he's just as good as the Invasion tri-colored dragons that came before.

i have teneb, for me, i dont use him so much for killing my opponent, even though he is good at that, but more of as a creater regenerater. if anything of yours dies, just bring it back, it really reminds me of a limited bring back, flying chanelhoard wurm

I used to play Teneb all the time in one of the first functional magic decks I ever had. It was a saproling deck, yes, but it had plenty of other big creatures that worked well with saprolings and Teneb could always retrieve those creature when they were destroyed.

ANY graveyard...

Thank you Tezz, I was thinking the same thing while reading this. I use Teneb in my G/W/B attrition deck, since the deck is highly reactionary and focuses more on stopping the opponent and keeping my life total stable I have an easy time surviving my opponents attacks, but a difficult time killing them back.

Teneb solves this problem elegantly, by being a 6/6 flyer himself, and by allowing me to steal their heavy hitters from the graveyard for 3. Consider that you get to put that creature into play under your control UNTIL IT DIES. Teneb let's you play incredibly expensive creatures for almost nothing- creatures that don't even have to be yours!

So fun! If Your opponent has any big, hard beasts, play this.Teneb The Harvester,Oblivion Ring/Wrath of God/Damnation, Accelerate

Teneb can help you survive any attack. He dodges most removal (being black) and will give you an endless swarm of minioons who are at your beck and call. Plus, he can win the game on his own. Lethal in one-on-one, but devastating in mukltiplayer. 5/5.

One of the few creatures in Doran's exact color combo.

this guy is amazing in a scion of the ur-dragon deck bringing back whatever you just dumped in your gy. and great in any other situation because his ability is AWESOME.

I only have 2 problems with him:
1: you can't return him with scion while he's transformed cuz they'd die from the legend rule
2: he's such a beefy game finisher that he tends to win me games before I take full advantage of his ability.

lets compare him to charnelhoard wurm:
Charnelhoard wurm can:
bring back himself
bring back any card in your library (including removal cards)
has trample, which makes him more likely to do combat damage to a player
isn't legendary, so you can have more than one on the field
doesn't require mana to use his effect
doesn't have to give combat damage, just any old damage to use his effect. anything with "tap this creature: it deals 1 damage to target player" works

Teneb:
is 1 less mana
can target any graveyard
but can only bring back creatures, but on the up side they go on the field, not in your hand

I use Teneb in my EDH deck.
A lot of coming into play/leaving play,
Sacrificing, removal, etc.
But what I find is that unless I don't summon him,
I'm winning via general damage.
It's a good win, no doubt,
But it's like his power outweighs his ability in my case. xD
Still a wonderful card with wonderful colours.
But it does die to Deathmark, unfortunately.

lol he combos quite well with Doomgape i run him in a deck that has Doran, the Siege Tower and Indomitable Ancients the fact that i can doomgape the ancients or doomgape himself is really nice for ten life, but as long as i've got teneb (and they have no fliers that can kill him) its a steady 10 life per turn. The deck features a ton of reanimation just in case he or my siege tower dies lol. if you ever have trouble choosing who to Breath of LIfe and Teneb is a choice then you deserve to be hit for not instantly chosing him. I think he's the best of the timeshifted primevals. Intet is also nice, but his ability has the option of getting you a CMC <3 card and then its just a waste of a few mana. Unless you have a problem building decks, Teneb will just about always end up bringing back a huge hitter and changing the game around instantly.

I like the use of colour in the art.

a very good card overall, kinda wish he only had 2 colors tho. it would make deciding which deck to put him in alot easier BUT still a great card.

I've been wondering which of this cycle of dragons is male and which are female. Any thoughts?

@ Gezus82

You can bring back Teneb, the Harvester when he's imprinted on Scion of the Ur-Dragon, just pay the 3 mana to recur him and then in response spend another 2 to reimprint the Ur-Dragon into something else.

Sometimes I drop this into my Sisters of stone death deck, (It has a bit of mana fixing to splash red for Thunderscape Master which has saved my Bad Ass a few times) it goes very nicely as i can drag my creatures to the sisters and let taneb hit.

Geez. That says any graveyard. Almost as good as the Agadeem Occultist/Join the Ranks combo.

My favorite EDH commander. I rarely use his ability, but his colors are really good for graveyard shenanigans.

GODAlmighty: You actually CANNOT do that. When Scion is turned into another dragon, you can't activate his ability, because he does not have it. He is no longer Scion, and has the abilities of the dragon you turned him into, and none of his own.

THIS MY MAIN MAN RIGHT HERE! Dumpster divin, scrap eatin, straight junkyard-dawg-big-baddy-sonunumbeach. Favorite EDH general EVER!

Can't even begin to tell you how awesome it is when he swoops in right after I blow up the world and starts rummaging through everyone's graveyards, picking out the besties for lunchies. And his art is awesome. And his colors are perfect. And Time Spiral was my favorite block ever. And I get to play Spiritmonger AND Reveillark in the same deck!

And, @A3Kitsune, Teneb is most assuredly a MAN. All the other dragons are women, or somewhere in between like Marilyn Manson in that one video, and Teneb has them make little sandwiches with no crusts and light mayonaisse for him, and he eats grapes that the other dragons dangle above his head while he lounges around smelling like garbage ALLLL DAY.

6/6 flying for 6, check.
Boss triggered ability on player combat damage, check.

Seems like a winner to me.
