I have no idea why people are not giving this card a 5/5. What is your reason?

This card deserves 5/5 because it benefits you, in a group game, or two-header dragon match, you can untap other players lands!!! This card untaps your lands too!!! Why not untap that Tolarian Academy or Bazaar of Baghdad?

Great in casual play, where you can run 4, great for reanimator too!!!

Drawing cards for free? 5/5 and BROKEN.

Simply broken combined with high tide.

Instant Speed
Untaps lands
Improves your hand

Seems good. Especially useful for managing mana supply, for either getting enough or trimming excess.

it's basically card draw for free.

Free cards are good cards. This card would have to do something remarkably stupid to not deserve a perfect score based on that merit alone, but it's two second chances to redeem cards you can't use for cards you can.

it doesn't straight up improve your hand. it filters, but you have one less card in hand after it resolves than you did before.

still completely broken though.

"Draw two cards, then choose and discard two cards. If you've reached three lands, this spell is free the rest of the game."

Amazing card, some decks might prefer Careful Study though.

Ah one of the redonkulous 'free' spells. I have this in a casual wee dragonauts / gelectrode deck and even there it's absurdly good.

No longer restricted in vintage. I guess the format's too fast for 3 lands to end up on the battlefield and make a difference. Maybe it will find its way into Mana drain control decks to provide even more hand sculpting, drawing what you top/brainstorm/jaced, and untapping Tolarian Academy. Other aggressive decks need the card advantage and would rather prefer the more reliable dark ritual.
Legacy - now that's where this card would cause havoc

Broken in vintage. Black will do anything to win.

This is a complete monster with Pyromancer Ascension. Do the math, only downside is it costs 2.50 online and 50 cents in real life.

Absolutely amazing with Pyromancer Ascension. Unfortunately, banned in every format except Urza Block (which noone plays) and Vintage where it needs to compete with things like Ancestral Recall (1 more card dig, keep 3 more cards, 1 more mana cost) and Timewalk (1 less mana, Draw a card, untap all your lands, get another attack phase, etc)...on the other hand, it also gets to dig for those cards.

Jeff Mirucola should sue Studio Ghibli for using his character in Ponyo.

I run this in The Mimeoplasm. No fatties in the yard? No problem! You can even play this and The Mimeoplasm on the same turn, due to the untap clause. I consider this to be one of the least broken things you can do with it.

5/5 in everything that likes cards in the graveyard.

WoTC, I know it's been a while, but didn't we talk about this? I will always break you off a piece if you let me. Let's stop meeting like this.

I recently made a U storm legacy decklist with 4 of these, I didn't even check the legality at first because I thought to myself 'nah, no way would they ban this card even if it's nuts for what I'm using it for.' Back to the drawing board. Stoopit banned cards.

This is basically an instant 4-of in any deck that can even have a hope of supporting it.

Clearly very good, not "perfect" because it does cost you a card, but if you are using the graveyard then thats fine too.

I'm not fluent in Vintage, but I'm wondering why somebody doesn't build a blue-black-red deck, where the entire point is to play Manamorphose, this, Gitaxian Probe, Street Wraith, etc.. until you finally get Yawgmoth's Will, and then repeat. Finish it off with storm.

High Tide changes the wording on Frantic Search a bit: 2{U}, Draw two cards, then discard two cards. Gain 6 mana.

High Tide breaks this in half, and is the reason it's banned in legacy. I really wish I could play it.

Banned in Legacy and Pauper... just a true testament to how bonkers this card really is. However, it's completely unrestricted in Vintage, the only format in which you can run Tolarian Academy. Oh dear.
