Love when they say "I make my Thornling 7/1 with trample, haste and its indestructible, and I attack with it!" and then I say "sure, except its not indestructible and I block it with my new 2/2, good job dealing me 5 damage".

What's that, Jace? You're activating your ultimate? DENIED! (Oh dear, and you've seemed to have lost all your counters as well. At least, I think it works like that. They lose the counters to activate the ability, and Husher counters it, right?)

Yes, that can be countered, and yes the counters are gained or lost as a cost. Activated abilities are anything with a Cost : Effect.

Such as strip mine's Tap, Sacrifice Strip Mine: Destroy target land. They still pay the cost of tapping and sacing strip mine, but you can respond to the ability itself and counter that with this girl. She's amazing, and the ability to be reused when needed is just icing. She's comparable to Venser, Shaper Savant and in some cases, superior to him. 5/5 in my eyes.

Awesome art, it's such a shame she ended up having four eyes.
Very cool and unique card.

I'd rather use Azorius Guildmage and Training Grounds for a huge lockdown, but this is pretty good, cool design.

The long-lost great grand Uncle (Istvan?) to Vexing Shusher. I'd imagine they would have a pretty quiet family reunion. Sorry for the bad joke, but I had to.

Can't counter Jace's Ultimate. That's a loyalty ability, not an activated ability.

A great sideboard card.
Besides, it's always funny when she hits the board... your opponent with that poker face: "uh... ok then."

One of my favorite cards of all time. You can't compare to the ability to counter activated abilities over and over again. I had 2 of these in my hand against my brother's planeswalker deck. I would play one counter an ability the play the other bouncing my first one back to my hand and it gave me a nearly endless loop that prevented him from using any planeswalker abilities. It was awesome.

The rule of thumb is: if it has a colon in it, it's and activated ability. Cost : Effect. Planeswalker abilities are definitely activated, the colons are along the left edge of the text box, between the loyalty changes and the effects.

Good against planeswalkers, other shenanigans, with a 2/2 flash to boot. 4.5/5

Each Time Spiral card was an homage to at least one previously printed card.

This card references Voidmage Apprentice and Voidmage Prodigy; those creatures could counter spells, this creature gets to Stifle abilities!

"Planeswalkers each have a number of activated abilities called “loyalty abilities.” You can activate a loyalty ability of a planeswalker you control only at the time you could cast a sorcery and only if you haven’t activated one of that planeswalker’s loyalty abilities yet that turn."
