i suppose you could play this while you play some destroy all lands effect (armageddon)? but...if you can pull that off cant you just find some other combo that actually kills opponent?

Could be worth using with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth so you can return nonbasic lands with ETB abilities to your hand. (This is another reason why I love the Ravnica bounce-lands so much in EDH).
