@KrosanGardener - If it gets a Zen-block reprint (or even later), it's likely since the Kudzu's text and Landfall's trigger text are exactly the same.
Panoramas, Terramorphic Expanse, fetchlands, Harrow... this guy would be an absolute beast in standard at this precise moment. Though he'll be an instant Terminate/Doom Blade target once he's on the floor, but that's usually a good thing.

Wizards needs to change the oracle text to Landfall - Put a 1+/1+ counter on Vinelasher Kudzu. It should show up when I search text for Landfall.

Very useful card in Landfall decks, although it's not Type 2 legal =\ Still a very solid card in its own, especially for only 2 mana.

I prefer to get this out on turn two, with an Arbor Elf on turn one...
(Turn one) Land (forest), {T} Arbor Elf (Turn two) {T} Forest and add to mana pool, {T} Arbor Elf, Untap forest, {T} Forest again, Vinelasher Kudzu, play a land. V.K. is now a 2/2 on turn (Turn three) {T} forest, Adventuring Gear Equip, Play a land, swing!!

Not only is he Mr. OG Landfall, he's a plant too. That means he doubles-down on +1/+1 counters while Avenger of Zendikar is on your board. I was building a casual landfall deck & noticed that by accident. Now I need to pick up a few more copies of each. :)

Landfall in just an ability word, so you could just search for "Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control" instead. It's a little less intuitive, but it works like a charm.

Land fetch cards like Tectonic Edge provide good food for it when you sac and search for land. Primeval Titan is another good choice.
I have played matches with four of them in my deck, and I learned that this can get out of hand quickly if left unanswered early on. Use plenty of land fetch monsters - Caravan Vigil , Viridian Emissary , Far Haven Elf , Borderland Ranger , Frontier Guide , Ondu Giant , I could go on. Land fetch spells will also provide bonuses, use - Cultivate , Harrow , Growth Spasm , Kodama's Reach , Khalni Heart Expedition , Rampant Growth , etc.
Green has so many different ways of ramping, that I cannot possibly think of them all, but if used correctly, this creature can be a total house. And don't even get me started on the abuse of cards like Fastbond ...
Use Ghave to take away one of Kudzu's +1/+1 counters to put a Saproling into play. Because the Saproling is also a land, Kudzu gets a counter back. Splice in an infinite mana combo for infinite Saprolings.

Since each Saproling is now a land, you need only give your creatures haste, or something like that (the 'Forests' now have summoning sickness), and you can go on ad infinitum. Akroma's Memorial is the way to go if you don't run red (Ghave EDH), but Fires of Yavimaya seems to go the best, flavourwise.

This is one of my favorite cards of all time. I had a casual UG deck that had Vinelasher, Azusa, and the Ravnica Karoos to make this dude huge. I realize it's a fairly janky strategy, but it was fun nonetheless. The blue was certainly necessary to protect him with counterspells once he hit the battlefield. As many have stated, he is even more awesome post-Zendikar.

My favorite GDW card...great even without support, pairs nicely with scute mob and mana acceleration. Sick in azusa type builds, he's pals with oboro, palace
Puts steppe lynx, geopede etc to shame. A must kill card for the opposition. Ah, add it to the list of gamebreaking 2 drops
