that's not very short-remembered

it's spirit lord and a arcane warchief

True, Forgeling, except the cards you'd need in hand (God draw, maybe?) and the turns it would take to set up, and how easy it is to break the link.

This is a straight up Spirit and Arcane support card.
PS> Arcanes' costs are not reduced by 1 CMC, only 1 Colorless.

If there were more playable spirits, this would be interesting. Or if it made Spirit spells cost 1 less too. As it is, not exhilarating.

There are more spirits than within Kamigawa block, my friends.

It's forgotten because arcane spells suck and there are no good spirits in kamigawa that benefit from a p/t boost. And the other spirits outside of kamigawa are noncombat support.

Good with the phantom creatures, like Phantom Nomad, since they're all spirits and can't die by damage when given a power/toughness boost. Also, Sekki, Seasons' Guide won't be able to die by damage and the tokens he creates will get a boost as well.

This is a staple in any spirit deck. It keeps most enemies at bay for slower decks, and forces people on defense for aggresive decks. This also speeds up your mana curve with your noncreature spells.

this card is much less awesome than it initially seems. Most (worth using) arcane spells are only one COLORED mc anyway so this doesn't do much good. does give spirits +1/+1 so it is essentially a glorious anthem in a spirit deck. meh

Hey Reimu, I think you've lost your gohei over here!

Also, Forgeling's combo is quite the kickassery, I must admit.

I run 4 in my R/G Spirit/Arcane deck.
It makes spirits worth their cost and arcanes cost their worth.

@AlphaNumerical: Don't forget that each of the three arcanes allows him to dig further for the next. It's not really as unrealistic as you make it sound, and it's actually a good combo at that :)

Now if just it also reduced the cost of spirits ;)

Still a good choice for Spiritcraft decks.

You know, I guess with the Innistrad spirits this is okay again.
Maybe it's not forgotten anymore...

Arcane spells you cast no longer cost 1 more than spells from other sets that do the same thing.

This was an awesome card for helping get out The Unspeakable. I ran 3 of them in my spirit deck. And had 2 Unspeakables, and a full sets of Reach, Peer, and Sift cards to bring out said monstrosity.
